Police Brutality: It's not all Black and White

    in US Government

Some say, "what you don't know, can't hurt you." Do you know your rights? What should you do if you are ever stopped or approached by a law enforcement officer? Racial tension is growing in America largely because of the media coverage of black males being killed by white police officers. However, there is more to the story than us outsiders actually know...until now!

Join host Tammy Gaitor and co-host Rodney Jordan as the Butterfly Evolution show welcomes Retired Police Chief Robert Moore for a "not to be missed" episode Monday, February 8, 2016. From the cotton fields of Mississippi to a presidential appointment by former United States president, Bill Clinton, Chief Moore served as the U.S. Marshal for the central district of Illinois. After a successful tenure, he returned to Jackson, Mississippi as the Chief of Police. Little did he know, he would have to fire an officer his first day on the job. "We know that there are bad cops patrolling your neighborhoods. We want them off of your streets just as bad as you do but you all are not helping us," he recently told a crowd of anxious young people at Howard University in Washington, D.C.

Chief Robert Moore is the author of the new history book, "The President's Men: Black United States Marshals in America. He is also well known for his numerous published articles in police magazines covering a wide range of topics including, Strategies for Increasing Black Executives, Racial Profiling, History of the Minority Police Officers in Illinois State Police, Solving the crisis of Black Youth in America.

Live life freely in love, know the various laws of life, and always continue to develop a positive character ~ Issa

Believe in yourself right now ~ even though it may be hard. You do not have to be up, to look up. Do not allow yourself to be overwhelmed by darkness, surrounded by negativity or give in to despair. None of these things improve your life. Do not give yourself permission to feel sorry for yourself, or give up your power. Start right now to take massive action on your own behalf to move your life forward. You can do this! Keep your mind focused on the outcome you desire. It takes discipline of mind, heart and spirit to create your breakthrough. What you think about you bring about. Despite your circumstances and all of the challenges you are facing, know this. Now it is time for you to believe it! Make it happen. You have something special. You have GREATNESS within you! ~ Les Brown

    Black and White Friday

    in Entertainment

Since the recent release of the Oscar nominations, there has been an outcry by the Black community and the rehashing of the #Oscarsowhite hashtag.  This continued snubbing it seems of the minority population in this inudstry is reflective of the lack of diversity in many other areas of socity and the treatment of Blacks across the country.  Do you think that this trend reflects the overall current sentiment about minorities in this country?  Call in and let us know what you think.

The Barbershop: So White, So Black, Who Cares...

    in Relationships

So White, No Black, Who Cares: Should Black People Care About The Oscars?

Jae Iglesia and Mr. Pearson will tackle the Academy Awards! Jada Pinkett Smith and Spike Lee are boycotting the Oscars due to the lack of Black actors, actresses, and directors being recognized for their craft. Pressure is being put on Chris Rock to turn down his role as host at the prestigious award show. Others are saying that Hollywood only honors Blacks for stereotypical roles, and the Oscars shouldn't be patronized anyway. Still others are saying this is all much ado about nothing. Who's right? Who's wrong? And what's the church's role in the whole big mess? We will discuss it this Sunday: in The Barbershop!

    Ministry Motto--1st Corinthians 9:20-22

"And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; to them that are without law, as without law (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,), that I might gain them that are without law. To the weak I became as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some."

ICE Ministries is an Evangelical and historically Christian men's ministry designed to bring edification and evangelism to men in general (and Black men in particular) through proper doctrine, proper teaching, proper commentary, proper criticism, and proper actions.
