On Win's Women of Wisdom today, Best Selling Author, Win Kelly Charles welcomes Karen Chaston: “Inspiring Women to Empower Themselves.” She is a wife, mother, author, speaker, former CFO publicly listed company, BraveHeart Women Resonator. Surprisingly, it took her son’s death for her to become more aware, grateful, healthier, energised and live in my Essence. Whilst Karen was perceived to be very successful, actually she was living a ground hog day existence, working, eating, and drinking too much, always in fight mode, her masculine totally denying her feminine side, running on empty, not fulfilled, not understanding that adrenalin in a woman’s body causes burnout, exhaustion, and disconnectedness. Karen now inspires women to become their own best friend and live in their Essence. Creating more “conscious entrepreneurs”; who allow heart and soul, as well as knowledge and expertise, to guide their businesses. To learn more about Karen visit http://www.karenchaston.com.au. Although this event was cancelled due to a lack of registrants, we are airing this show to discuss the reasons why we called for the Symposium on Women in the Arts. It seems that women in music do not understand the importance of unifying to address the severe marginalization of women in music in performances, music programming, and receipt of financial benefits from grants, across the nation. At www.wijsf.org, we are committed to supporting and promoting women in music, globally. We shall continue to do what we can to increase the profiles of our musical members.

Synopsis: The idea of owning and operating a small business with your spouse has a lot going for it. Many of the same qualities that make for a strong marriage translate well into running a business—good communication, mutual trust, the ability to compromise, a shared dedication to a common goal.
But as many married business owners can tell you, there are plenty of risks as well. Most small business owners work around-the-clock and money is always tight. The enterprise can sink under the weight of two people who love each other but aren’t built for running a business together.
Be sure you’ve answered questions:
Which business roles and responsibilities will each of us take on?
Which one of us will be “in charge”?
Are we up to working side-by-side every hour of the day?
How will we handle conflicting opinions and ideas?
Can we keep our business and our marriage separate (and healthy)?

From top Corporate business woman, to internationally acclaimed author, Anita Telle talks to us about how her child being bullied, changed her and her son’s life as well as the lives of many people from around the world. She has a mission: To teach acceptance and love to children ages 4 – 9 so they will grow up to be amazing, supportive and loving teenagers, immune to peer pressure and bullying. She also has a story to tell. And it’s an important story; one that touches everyone, everywhere, from every culture. But it is especially important for children: Being different IS normal. We are all different, in different ways.
As a very involved mom, Anita realized just how much she loves children and created the first ever “feel good” Gnomy’s Boo-Boo Bears for children with a unique story for each Boo-Boo-Bear. Anita is furthering her love for children and is now focusing on anti-bullying because her son Branden was born with a cleft pallet/lip and was bullied for being different. As a mom, she asked herself what she could do to make a change in her son’s life. Anita decided to start writing children’s books with a “message of acceptance”.

What does “No Mean Girls” mean to you? I’ll bet you typically think of the OTHER person – the one who’s been or is being mean to you. Yet, in this series, I want you to think about YOURSELF as the mean girl. We cannot change other people’s behaviors; if we are to change the world, we have to change our own thoughts, habits, responses, and behaviors. And let me just say it here - I, too, struggle with my inner 'mean girl'. Tune in to hear more.
