Join me for a rich bold jazzy conversation with Karin Nemri on eating disorders, her NDE and why she returned to her body.
Karin had a near death experience in 1971 when she was 15. This life-defining event not only led her to the healing path she is on today, but gave her an opportunity to catch a glimpse of the spiritual realm and gain an understanding of many other planes of reality and of the beings who function within them. After experiencing an involvement and knowledge of God, that she had not known before, her complete faith and trust grew strong, allowing her to heal from the bulimia and anorexia that caused her heart to stop in the first place. Then she discovered that she had become gifted in a special way; allowing her to “team up” with Spirit and give people a concrete way to have a “spiritual understanding of healing”.

The focus of the media on Kate Middleton's postpartum tummy puts a spotlight right on a big problem in our culture.
A quote from this article says it best:
The media’s neuroticism over Kate’s post-pregnant looks is brainwashing women into thinking that they will constantly be judged and criticized unless they meet the new standard – unattainable perfection, human behavior expert Patrick Wanis PhD, told FOX411’s Pop Tarts column. The obsession with the perfect female body is spiraling out of control.
Come listen as we talk with our guest, Julie Edwards, who knows too well how this can play out for young women, or even girls.
If you are a woman or girl who has struggled with body image.... if you are a mom or dad to a daughter of any age... or if you are the friend of someone you suspect may be struggling with an eating disorder, whether anorexia or bulimia, or at risk of developing one, you do not want to miss this episode!

Corey and Steve invite you to tune in as they tackle some of the week's big topics in life and sport.
This week we will spend the first half of the show discussing the latest Football headlines from the NFL and NCAA. From the 1 degree murder indictment of Aaron Hernandez and the NFL’s latest CTE fiasco to the NCAA common-sense defying flip-flops, we will bring you our rough, raw, and real opinions.
In the second half of the show, we are honored to have Robanne Robin as our special guest. Robanne has battled eating disorders all of her life including: childhood obesity, anorexia, bulimia, and morbid obesity. At age 37, Robanne was facing major health issues and she knew she had to make some serious lifestyle changes, or risk continued health problems. After almost giving up on herself, Robanne sought medical help that has saved her life. On August 4, 2009, Robanne had laparoscopic roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery and has since lost half of her body weight -- from weighing 300 pounds to 150! She now lives an active lifestyle and has launched books and inspirational projects. Robanne works with bariatric patients, children, and anyone who struggles with eating disorders to motivate them to be successful and by encouraging them to GET THEIR STRONG ON with exercise, healthy eating, and to re-think being skinny. Her aim is to shift their focus to being STRONG and fit by sharing the message that STRONG IS THE NEW SKINNY, and above all, shares the message that anyone can make changes. You can find out more about Robanne and her book by going to: http://www.getyourstrongon.net -- check it out!

I am delighted to talk to author Karly Randolph Pitman. Karly is the author of the best selling Overcoming Sugar Addiction, Overcoming Sugar Addiction for Life, The 30 Day Lift, Heal Overeating: Untangled, and Heal Your Body Image. You can also find her in the hit weight loss film, The Inner Weigh, and on The Daily Love, where she's a contributing writer. ?Karly Randolph Pitman has done it all when it comes to getting stuck in food. Her 20 year struggle with sugar addiction, bulimia, binge eating disorder, compulsive overeating, and body hatred - as well as her lifelong struggles with anxiety and depression - have been both her greatest challenge and her greatest teacher.
These struggles sent her on a healing journey into self compassion, self acceptance and unconditional love. Karly synthesized these practices into a process she calls growing human(kind)ness. Growing human(kind)ness is a map to create emotional healing from eating disorders and addiction - the "how to" of how to love yourself.
Nutrition, sugar, women, and our complicated relationships with food are subjects I (Nadia Giordana) never get tired of talking about, and I think many of my listeners feel the same way. This is going to be a great program.
You can learn more about Karly at www.karlyrandolphpitman.com and read her blog at www.firstourselves.org. For more help on becoming sugar free, visit Karly at www.sugar-addiction-book.com, where you can sign up for a free weekly email on how to find emotional freedom from sugar.
