Do you have issues with food? Do you think you may be an "emotional eater?" What's an emotional eater?
Emotional eating is when a person uses food as an attempt to control, monitor, and cope with negative feelings or thoughts. Because emotional eating typically results in overeating, it can often lead to poor self-esteem, unwanted weight gain, and obesity.
If you are binge eating or sometimes not eating at all, learn how to recognize the triggers of emotional eating and understand the habits and causes.

Our culture today has become obsessed with diets. Instead of that word simply meaning, "that which you eat", it has become a word that implies deprivation, starving, restriction, and sacrifice. There are so many fads and theories about how to achieve that perfect body, (whether realistic or not), and yet more and more people are suffering with allergies, digestive disturbance, and more serious conditions like cancer, celiac, and Crohn's Disease, as well as eating disorders such as anorexia, bulemia, pica, and Pradar Willi Syndrome. Despite the media and the quest for the perfect figure, the obesity epidemic continues and we know all too well (hopefully) how this condition can contribute to heart disease, diabetes, and cancer, not to mention other conditions like arthritis that are complicated by increasing weight.
Last time, we discussed how Ayurveda views food as medicine and how to incorporate Ayurvedic principles to achieve perfect weight and balance. Today Nick and Joanna will be discussing how hypnosis can help manage and heal the myriad of eating disorders that seem to affect us today.
Is it a matter of willpower, or are we powerless to make the changes we need to make to live a happier, healthier life where we can live longer and prevent disease before it starts?
Whether it's a matter of a few pounds you would like to lose, or a more serious problem of obesity and/or a related illness, hypnosis can help, along with a sensible diet and lifestyle that decreases stress, and brings some ease and sanity to this epidemic problem.

Living with an Addiction is like sailing on the ocean without any rudder or the ability to raise or lower the sails. On good days - you have no idea of where you are headed - and you can try an hope that it is the direction you want to go - and you think you are enjoying yourself. However on those days when the wind kicks up or turns into a violent storm - holding on to a vessel that can sink at any moment should be enough to motivate anyone to seek recovery. Ahhh - but once the winds die down and you realize that you are still alive - some weird voice in the back of your brain tells you the worse is over and you once again continue your journey into a potentially torrential future.

So many women in America are literally "Dying" to be thin. According to the National Eating Disorders Association 20 million women in the U.S. suffer with a clinically significant eating disorder...like Anorexia Nervosa and Bulemia Nervosa! Are you one of them? If so you're not alone and I'm here to help you kick it to the curb for good.
Did you know you can become anorexic for medical reasons not just because you decide to! I've been down to 90 lbs. myself from simply being sick from seizure medicine. I wanted to eat but my body had extreme trouble just tolertating chicken soup and crackers. I know what it's like to feel weak, spacy, faintish, black out, seizures, hair loss, dry skin and hair, severe reflux from stomach irratation due to the seizure medicine Depakote...on and on. I drank aloe juice for months, had to stay off seizure medications to actually get well again. I was so naseous, and my belly hurt so bad...my liver was not happy! So whatever the cause of starvation, wether it's due to a medical problem or because of a mental, physical, spiritual and emotional problem...there is a way to recover and kick this stuff to the curb! This is what we're talking about in today's show. Lack of food and hydration means lack of living life in general...it's not cool, it's not a joke...and it's not a fun thing. You know it's a deep, depressing lonely place to be sick and weak all the time...Thanksgiving is next week will you be eating and enjoying the meal in a healthy fun way...or starving/purging your way through this ever popular holiday?
