Rez and Andy welcome Nancy Frates to the show, the mom behind the $220 MILLION DOLLAR ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in 2014.
On March 13, 2011 Nancy Frates' son, 27 year old Peter, was diagnosed with ALS, and her world changed forever. They were told there is no treatment or cure and the prognosis is 2-5 years. She also discovered, that as the disease progresses, the average cost for an ALS patient to live with the disease is $280,000.00 per year.
Spurred to action, Nancy and Pete and the team they call "Team Frate Train" championed August 2014’s global movement, The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, which spread worldwide and raised over 220 million dollars for ALS.
Also on the show, Becky Moore, Executive Director of the ALS Association's Evergreen Chapter. Becky will tell us about the needs of the local chapters and what services they provide to ALS patients.
in The Bible
Join James and Janeen as we take a look at the Ice Bucket Challenge for what it really is, an occult ritual mimicking (as they always do) the Bible's practice of remission of sins through baptism. The cure for ALS is the bait to get people to either do the challenge or donate to the cure. The catch being that a company called ISIS is the main recipient of donations.
August may be coming to a close, but football season is just now kicking off. The dogs days of summer are waning and being tempered by the fun and frozen fundraising of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, but of course…There are plenty of killjoys and nitpickers who have found fault with how some people video their worthy ice water dousing. So, join Jay, Matt, and the IWS Radio Players as they discuss the 2014 NCAA and NFL football seasons, their experiences with the Ice Bucket Challenge, and how not to let the haters get you down.
All of that plus Jerry Lewis, Sarah Silverman, and your phone calls at 661.244.9852 on this week’s IWS Radio Show.

What is the 'Ice Bucket Challenge'?
It is the spine-tingling and teeth-chattering challenge that has swept the world and raised millions for good causes.
At the moment, it seems no visit to YouTube or a news website is complete without watching the latest nominated celebrity have freezing cold water poured over them from a big bucket.
But where did this craze come from?
The choice is very simple. You either stand or sit there while some very kind and willing assistants pour a big container of ice water over your head, or you make a donation to an ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) charity.
The whole thing is filmed and once the 'victim' has recovered from the icy shock, they nominate someone else to take the challenge.
LISTEN LIVE as Miss PercyMae discusses the latest trends of "challenges" with her special guest, Comedian Lavon Godfrey. Together, these two comics will engage in conversation about this and other social trends.
