    in Business

VOICES OF LIBERTY POWERED BY RON PAUL

Bubba comments on the bad economic data that was released on Wednesday. Bubba maintains that the markets never change and that the data being released by the government doesn’t seem to relate to the plight of average Joe. Bubba states that he is not bullish on what is happening today, and unless we get some relief from the standoff in Washington he doesn’t see good results.

Bubba speaks about the spot he did with Michael Hansworth on BNN. Michael asks Bubba what is happening to the VIX (volatility index) he says that volatility is very low and that it is tough on traders. Investors like this environment because they can sleep at night, but traders are having a tough time making a living. Bubba and Michael comment on the recent highs in the NASDAQ and their perception of where it will go in the future.

Bubba talks with Michael discuss the problems that High School students will encounter when they are faced with the problems of reaching maturity. Most schools don’t educate them on the problems that they will face when they leave the nest and must make financial decisions on their own. Bubba tells Michael about his program that is designed to help graduating seniors deal with the problems they will encounter.

Bubba talks about the difference between Canadian financial regulations and those of the United States. He comments on the spread between the U.S. dollar and the Canadian currency. Michael and Bubba discuss how markets tend to over and under value themselves. It is a human tendency to follow the herd and markets do the same thing. Bubba concludes that markets never change it is the people who trade then that makes life interesting.

    2015.03.09 The Bubba Show

    in Business

Bubba and the Badger discuss the hammering the markets took on Friday March 6th 2014 after the jobs number was released. They talk about how positive economic numbers can be viewed by Wall Street to be negative news and the markets react to it by selling off very quickly. Bubba comments that the “fear Index” did not rise on the selloff.

Bubba and the Badger discuss the effect of Apple Inc. being included in the DJIA. Bubba wonders if IBM is it really a tech company anymore. The Badger talks about “market expectation”. Bubba points out that the market had mostly negative news in February but had one of its better months in recent years. The Badger talks about the effect of a rising dollar on U.S. exports. He uses the example of car prices to support his position.

Bubba asks the Badger to rank the size of the Equity markets in relation to the debt markets. The Badger points out that they are just a fraction of the debt and energy markets. Bubba and the Badger discuss the concept of spreading debt, using Greece and Germany as an example. Bubba talks about the “chase for yield” and how the negative interest rates are affecting the makeup of today’s interest rate markets.

The Badger comments on how the media loved the jobs number on Friday. However they were off base when it became apparent that the good jobs number might lead to the Fed raising short term interest rates. The Badger makes a comparison between theoretical traders and traders who are in the markets every day and their viewpoint. He comments about how it is difficult to predict future prices unless you have some metric to measure them against.

    Markets March Madness

Bubba talks about March Madness and how crazy it has been. This week The Bubba Show adds a new feature of looking at the trading action of the previous week. Bubba talks about the market tells just like the footprints it leaves. Every chart tells a story as Bubba explains what to expect. Bubba indicates that he is still miffed by the legalized "Ponzi Scheme" being run by the FED

Bubba replays his interview from FOX Business After the Bell, with the interview Bubba comments on what each of the guests has to say. Bubba has a problem with one of the guests who stated that no one wants to borrow money. We all know that is a load of crap, banks are not providing liquidity the window is closed. Another guest talked about the dollar and what it means, Bubba once again says B.S.

On Monday Bubba co-hosted the Opening Bell with Maria Bartiromo, there were fireworks on set, and here Bubba was able to finish his thoughts in context. Bubba disputes the numbers stating that the middle class is not participating in this recovery. Bubba gets into why the FED can’t and won't raise rates anytime soon. The dreamers on set tried to dispute the facts with Bubba but finally gave up because they couldn't find a reason to support their opinion.

Maria Bartiromo asks the question where should you be investing now. The other guests were talking, London, China and Japan. Bubba asks the question: Why not invest in alternatives right here in the U.S.? Bubba sights the examples of REITs and MLPs and sees no reason to chase equity markets that are on the same thin ice of the U.S.

    2015.03.19 The Bubba Show

    in Business

Bubba comments on the state of the equity markets. He talks about the “race to the bottom” in currencies. He states that the market has only so much space and when that space gets crowded someone will get bumped out. He notes that not everyone can win the race to the bottom. He discusses the effect on the current contango is having in the Oil market. He concludes this segment by warning that something will happen in the Oil market that will drive out participants.

Jim Lurio comments that the Fed promised to have interest rates controlled by the economic data but there is no sign of inflation, so why raise rates now? Bubba agrees with him. Jim comments on the unintended consequences of the rising dollar. If the Fed cuts rates it could cause U.S. exporters to lose their edge entirely and may cause the U.S. to stop growth. Bubba and Jim agree the Fed seems to be in a bind.

Bubba plays the tape of his BNN piece on Tuesday. Bubba comments that the markets have been in a strange pattern the past few weeks. They have been “gapping” overnight and then they are very stable during the day. He talks about large rally in the Bond market that may be the key number going into the Fed report. He states that no matter what happens that there will be selloff after the report hits the street.

Bubba comments that except for the extremely wealthy that there has been no recovery. The middle class has not benefited from the Fed’s policies and if they raise rates at this time it will probably hurt the employment picture. Bubba closes out the interview by noting that the Equity markets are only a small part of the overall financial picture.
