BtP Ep 15 – Let me see that Thraaaaawwnn…That Thrawn Thrawn Thrawn Thrawn Thrawn

    in Pop Culture

Brian’s gone again(and it shows), and we’re left wondering: why have we never seen him and Apache Chief in the same place, at the same time?  Whatever the reason, Charles and Paul will “get big” with this week’s guest, and co-host of the DC Onscreen podcast, Jason Goss.

With the mysterious “Rebirth” project looming the hosts discuss the good, bad, and ugly of DC’s New 52 universe.  Discussion DC attracting new readers and doing more for existing ones.

Rumors swirl that have us blue, with anticipation, for season 3 of Star War: Rebels.  Eyes red, with excitement, Paul gives us the low-down on a fan favorite EU antagonist.

Jason drops news on a Batman that doesn’t say “no.”  We’ll round the bases with a possibly uninhibited Caped Crusader and potential effects on the future of the DC Extended Universe.

BtP Ep12 - 67?!? Don't add any characters on your way through the parking lot!

    in Pop Culture

Get your Windex and paper towels, nerdgasms abound in the first 10 minutes.  Brian “Third Leg” Ibbott drops a load of MCU’s “Infinity War” speculation and swaps thoughts with Charles and Paul.  The Russo brothers drop a possible spoiler bomb of information, in a recent interview.  The hosts wax geeketic on how to introduce FF and Spiderman into the MCU.

Ryan Coogler is set to visualize and guide the creed of the Black Panther and direct the future of Wakanda in the MCU.  The hosts reveal they haven't seen Creed.  SPOILERS, it's awesome!!  Paul fantasizes high ideals and tone for the upcoming feature.

ABC teases upcoming Marvel projects, consisting of a second comedy, a Mockingbird pilot order, and a secret project helmed by John Ridley; the hosts fill-in the blanks with their flights of fancy.

Deadpool gets crafty with alternative billboards and pitches to get more of the ladies into the theater.

BtP-Ep 13"If you want to be Roland Deschain, It don't matter if you're black..."

    in Pop Culture

While Ibbott is out and about Chris stops by to share some wisdom and dead air.  Charles, Paul, and Chris show you what a Three Amigos sequel would have been like without Chevy as they mine the pop culture caves for the weekly riches.

Idris Elba confirmed for a movie adaptation of The Dark Tower, but will color/race be a factor, yet again?  Seriously, we should all be so lucky to be Elbanians.

Deadpool fans went to see to see a sneak peek and stayed to see the WHOLE movie.  How much more goodwill can this project garner with its fans??  Rumor has it that premiere night goody bags will include booze and vouchers for prostitutes!  Michael Scott dies laughing at all the “tent pole saturation” in this episode.

Justice League vs. Teen Titans is coming to a DvD player near you.  The guys discuss the potential of these two hot DC properties collide.  What happens when the next generation is forced to sidekick their mentors?

BtP - Ep 11 - "If Michael Bay made a snuff film, I would go watch it!!"

    in Pop Culture

News of the Transformer5 director sparks Charles’s interest as he declares his unfettered love for Michael Bay.  Travis sees that, and raises him one.  Professed TMNT Superfan, Charles, finally remembers that there’s an “r” in Krang but then decides that his mobile base is called the Thunderdrome; a collective wave of facepalms shakes the internet.

Paul discusses upcoming FX/Marvel TV properties Legion, and another unnamed project, and what it could mean for the futures of TV projects going forward.

Travis deems Funko Pop! to be spoiler peddlers.  He and the guys discuss whether or not they or the Lego preview actually spoiled anything or just confirmed what any comic fan could see coming.

#WheresRey hits the Twittersphere and Paul pulls out his trusty soapbox.  Where is the happy medium for social justice and nerd rage?  Has the Monopoly controversy gone a step too far and are the facts about Rey’s merchandising absence being lost or unfairly misrepresented?  One thing’s for sure; the #WheresBB8 movement isn’t likely to find much traction.
