I'll be previewing the 2015 Southeastern Conference football season with Alabama alum/SEC elitist/"Mouth of the South" Sedrick Hall. Among the topics to be discussed:
Who are the teams to beat in the East and West divisions?
Will this be the year that Georgia will slay the Alabama/Auburn dragon?
What's up with the SEC title 'drought'?
Who are the darkhorses in the SEC?
Who will win the SEC championship in 2015?
Co-hosts Fred Altvater and Carlos Torres return after a week off, and will take The Weekend Backspin to recap the weekend action and zero in on Jason Day, who is supernova hot right now. After lapping the field at the Barclays Championship, he moved to first on the FedEx Cup and inches closer to No. 1 in the world.
Mark Croft, Long time PGA Professional in Yuma, Arizona and host of Desert Southwest Golf Show every Tuesday morning on KBLU Radio, will join them in a live round robin, on a merged VIG/Practice Range segment, to talk about diversity in golf.
Also on The Par-5 News presented by United Golf Network, they will talk about John Daly’s recent collapse, Martin Kaymer becoming a casualty of the FedEx Cup playoffs, Adam Scott sticking to the long putter, rules changes to the Presidents Cup, the Champions Tour canceled event in China and a unique 420 golf tournament.
On today's World Footprints radio show we will take flight across America with pilot Field Morey as he prepares for his Capital Air Tour. Field and fellow pilot Conrad Teitell are embarking on an adventurous flight in a small aircraft to all the state capitals in the United States lower 48 plus Alaska in only two weeks. The pilots plan to raise awareness about the importance of smaller airports to the tourism industry and to provide a virtual geography lesson to school children across America. We will also enjoy some time in middle America; namely Ohio, as we enjoy a walk through the roller coaster capital of the world--Cedar Point. This Sandusky landmark is a place that holds special memories for us because every childhood summer was spent daring ourselves to ride the latest roller coaster. This visit was no different because the Park's Bryan Edwards led us to an old favorite--The Blue Streak; and we enjoyed soaring through the air on the newest giant--The Gatekeeper. Enjoy exploring the "best amusement park in the world" with us. Finally, one of the decisive battles in the War of 1812 took place in Lake Erie's Put-In-Bay where Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry captured the British squadron and raised the now famous "Don't Give Up The Ship" flag on board the US Brig Niagara. National Park Ranger Marianne Duvendack takes us on a tour around the International Peace Monument and shares more about Ohio's role in the War of 1812.
Don Weatherspoon was a walk on football player who wanted to join the Michigan State Spartans in a year when they were destined for greatness. Here's the kicker...he made the team as a defensive tackle...and they went on to win the NCAA National Championship. That was grit and determination. Well, flash forward about 50 years and you'll find Don Weatherspoon having earned a doctorate and compiled a long and distinguished career in law enforcement, education and in senior positions in state government; and landed in a role as a member of the Michigan Liquor Control Commission. Don was asked if he would have any interest in serving as emergency manager of a deeply troubled public school system...he says yes. Soon thereafter, Governor Snyder appoints him emergency manager of the Muskegon Heights Public Schools. Kamilia Landrum is a current member of the National Board of Directors for the NAACP. She joined the Board in February of 2012 and became Vice Chair of the National Youth Work Committee, a member of the Finance and Audit Committees respectively, and was most recently appointed as Vice Chair of the Image Awards Committee. Locally, she is Co-Advisor to the Detroit NAACP Youth Council and Chair of the Detroit Branch NAACP Young Adult Committee. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Florida A&M University. She served as Chair of the Fight for Freedom Fund Banquet for the FAMU Chapter of the NAACP, and Treasurer of the Beta Alpha Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She is also pursuing her Masters of Public Administration at Wayne State.
Host Stephen Platinum, Rachael Freeman and Larry Goodman interview Tommy Too Much.. His beef with LaGrange Championship Wrestling will be one of the topics. We will also talk with GWH News writer Jeff Richards on what's happening in pro wrestling in the Carolina.

After a heartbreaking NFC Championship loss, the Green Bay Packers were one of the favorites to play in Super Bowl 50. They resigned Randall Cobb, returned all offensive starters, including reigning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers. On draft day, they added another weapon, Ty Montgomery from Stanford. Before camp, Montgomery was nothing more than a rookie on the depth chart. The wide receiver unit was solid, with Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, and DeVante Adams rounding out the top three. There were talks of Mike McCarthy possibly keeping six wide receivers, on the roster.
Jared Abbrederis was the first victim of injury, in the wide receiver unit, suffering a concussion. Then Jordy Nelson tore his ACL, and now Randall Cobb injured his shoulder. Nelson is out for the year, and Cobb's return is unknown. He suffered a minor AC joint sprain. Bigger injuries loom as Bryan Bulaga sprained his ankle, and has had a history of injuries. Micah Hyde left the game with a neck injury.

Will this be the year that Clemson will slay the Florida State dragon?
Is this Miami coach Al Golden's last stand?
Who are the darkhorses in the ACC?
Will the ACC Channel REALLY happen???
Who will win the ACC championship in 2015?
We're less than a week away from the start of the 2015 College Football season. Every team in play is hoping to have a shot at a division, conference or national championship. The players have their own goals as well, and for some of them, that involves picking up some fancy trophies in December. College football has more than a dozen national awards that are doled out based on individual performance throughout the season, most notably the Heisman Trophy. Last year saw two players (Oregon's Marcus Mariota and Arizona's Scooby Wright) claim eight total trophies. We’re going to go ahead and take a stab at picking those winners now, and maybe we'll get a few right. Join @Lock_tha_Great , @JaiHov and the producer of the show @Howeezy26 as they discuss the hottest sports news of the past week and analyze college football's biggest postseason awards, predictions for conference winners and pick the Final Four for this year’s College Football Playoff.
