Black Power is a political slogan and a name for various associated ideologies aimed at achieving self determination for people of African descent. It is used by African Americans in the United States. It was prominent in the late 1960s and early 1970s, emphasizing racial pride and the creation of black political and cultural institutions to nurture and promote black collective interests and advance black values.
"Black Power" expresses a range of political goals, from defense against racial oppression, to the establishment of social institutions and a self-sufficient economy.
Todays program will examine the BPM in order to understand its purpose and success. What were the goals and objectives of the movement? Who was involved and why? What is the impact of the BPM on the political, economicäl, and social agenda for African Americans today? Is the movement still in operation today? These and other ideas concerning The Black Power Movement will be discussed.

Greg Justice, MA opened AYC Health & Fitness, Kansas City’s Original Personal Training Center, in May 1986. He has personally trained more than 55,000 one-on-one sessions. Today, AYC specializes in corporate wellness and personal training.
He also serves as the CEO of the National Corporate Fitness Institute, a certifying agency for corporate fitness instructors.
He has worked with athletes and non-athletes of all ages and physical abilities and served as a conditioning coach at the collegiate level. He also worked with the Kansas City Chiefs, during the offseason, in the early 1980’s.
He has been actively involved in the fitness industry for more than three decades as a club manager, owner, personal fitness trainer, and corporate wellness supervisor where he worked with more than 60 corporations.
Greg has authored or co-authored 12 books (several on the topic of mindfulness and the mind body conection) and writes articles for many international publications and websites including Exercise & Health, IDEA Fitness Journal, American Fitness Magazine, Protraineronline.com, Fitcommerce.com, Personal Trainer University, and has a monthly column called “Treadmill Talks” in Personal Fitness Professional (PFP) magazine.
