Almost without exception -- all of us are addicted to something. You may say, "Not me! I have no dependency on alcohol or drugs... I don't overeat or smoke... I have no issues with gambling or overindulgence in sex, so how could I be an addict?"
In fact, most of us have at least one addiction, whether we know it or not. The reason we may not know we are an addict is that the definition of addiction is really way too narrow in scope. I believe that anything we are dependent on to give us a payoff is a form of addiction. The ego knows no boundaries in creating all kinds of addictions because the world of physical senses is the ego's playground.
On the program I will explain the many ways we create our addictions and I will offer some solutions to overcome them. And also -- I'll tell you about my own personal addiction that nearly killed me.
And don't forget...if you have a dream you would like me to interpret, please call in during the show.

Johnny Strozier was a Georgia prisoner for 46 years (from 1968 to 2013) and served about 15 of those years in solitary confinement. Call-in to speak on air at 347.857.3293. Strozier was initially arrested at age 6, when he and friends burglarized an Atlanta warehouse to steal cigarettes for family members and candy for themselves. He was first imprisoned at age 10. His sentence was lengthened numerous times due to his lack of cooperation with juvenile detention rules. Later, his sentence was lengthened to 90 years after assaulting a prison guard.
Strozier's warden told him he would never exit prison alive because he often escaped and was involved in gang activity, but Strozier changed. He became a Christian in the 1980s. Strozier became active in church, married, and gained his high school diploma while still incarcerated. He also became a certified cook and brick mason. Since prison release, Strozier works, counsels youths, and faithfully attends church. Strozier has been presented to speak at prestigious engagements before college student bodies, civil rights officials, and church congregations. In fact, Strozier assembled a group of churches and individuals to help other released inmates find subsistence assistance, encouragement, and a spiritual family.
Strozier will share information about reentry opportunities, the importance of avoiding behavior that leads to incarceration, and he plans interviews with persons who can share valuable information that will improve lives of former inmates and at-risk youths. Phone Strozier at 678.516.4993.

Today we are live from 825 8th ave between 49th and West 50th Street, Two Worldwide Plaza is a post-war skyscraper. The 39-floor building in Midtown West was completed by William Zeckendorf Jr. in 1989. Today, it is part of a three-building design that stretches an entire block between 8th and 9th Avenue from 49th to 50th Street.
The building's postmodern exterior is perhaps one of the most remarkable building features. The old-fashioned brick is modernized by a copper roof and glass pyramid at the top. At certain times of the day, the sun hits the sleek rows of windows to the point that the facade shines like metal. Terraces abound in the majority of the 455 apartments, each equipped with granite countertops in modern kitchens, marble baths, and 11-foot ceilings.
The interior garden courtyard reserved for residents is matched with the mid-block public plaza housing a diverse array of greenery as well a fountain with elaborate statues, and a nearby cafe.

I did not know what I wanted to talked about, but anger has been something that God has been placing on my heart. I used to struggle with anger and I thank God for how far he has brought me in controlling this emotion.
Many of us were taught not to get angry or to "just get over it". Because of this we have been walking around with a lot of bottled up anger waiting to explode. We end up being easily angered by anything and regret things later on. At times we make decisions that are sometimes life changing due to our lack of control with anger. Even those close to us who have our best interest end up feeling the repercussions of our anger.
Other times we feel it is easier to express anger rather than sadness and hurt. We see being vulnerable as something foreign or terrifying. Perhaps we have been vulnerable in the past with the wrong people and we were taken advantage of. Or we were in a vulnerable position and someone used their control and power over us. Now we build walls that no one dare break down without facing our wrath.
Anger is a natural emotion and it is not a bad thing, but we need to submit all our emotions to God. He will give us the power to overcome and not be overcome by our anger.
Ephesians 4: 26-27 "Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil."
Proverbs 15:1 "A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger."
Proverbs 16:32 "He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city."
