Why Men Are Struggling to Grow in Their Faith
David Delk and Brett Clemmer unpack the primary issues
The reality is that many churches have been ambivalent about the process and many men have simply abandoned churches altogether. They
With so much competing for our time and energy, discipleship often gets placed on the back burner – for another day. Delk and Clemmer are trying to change this dynamic to give men a challenge to become the kind of men Jesus built through one-on-one discipleship.
What do you think are some of the reasons many men are disinterested in church and not growing in their faith?
Why do you think most churches take discipleship for granted? Why?
You say that some of us believe that this process of growing as Christ-followers is just automatic. What’s wrong with this idea?
Do we tend to leave this important process to chance?
What’s the balance between doing activities and growing in faith?
What’s wrong with the way churches have tried to disciple people over the last 70 years?
Is there a different process for discipleship – or one that works better – for men and women?
You mention three core ingredients to effective disciple-making. What do you say?
What would you suggest are the best steps for churches (or for individual men) toward developing a greater awareness of spiritual growth?
Are there any other obstacles that men and churches need to be aware of that interfere with discipleship?
What is Man in the Mirror doing to help men and families in their quest to grow in their faith?
What do you say to women who desperately desire their husbands to grow in faith.

I just returned from a week on the beach in florida with our entire family, grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins. While there it became more clear than ever, what true wealth really is, and why you want to be investing smartly today, to buy you the future that will create more happiness than just about anything else.
This is what life is really all about, living a life of happiness, fulfillment, and service.

After taking home the Rising Star Award at the 2014 Country Music Association of Ontario Awards, Jordan McIntosh continues to climb the ranks as one of Canada’s hottest new country stars. No stranger to the stage, the 19-year-old Ottawa native has toured with country stars Brett Kissel and, most recently, Emerson Drive. Additionally, he performed on the main stage at the third annual Boots and Hearts Festival in August. A top 6 finalist in the 2014 CCMA Discovery program, Jordan has been nominated for this year’s Rising Star Award at the Canadian Country Music Association Awards which will be held in Halifax (Sunday, September 13).
Jordan’s first influence was his older sister, Melissa. “My entire family is musical, but I idolized my sister. She started to sing before I did and, being younger, I wanted to do everything she did. That’s how I found out I could sing. I never really studied music. I just sang all the time. I know there’s a one in a million chance that you can make a career of your ability to sing. That’s always kept me focused, but I couldn’t do any of this without my family.”

Rob Reischel has authored seven books. He joins the show tonight to talk about his latest, "Leaders of the Pack: Starr, Favre, Rodgers and Why Green Bay's Quarterback Trio is the best in the NFL." There have been a handful of teams that can boost a trio of quarterbacks. The Dallas Cowboys had Roger Staubach, Troy Aikman, and Tony Romo. The San Francisco 49ers can boost about Y.A. Title, Joe Montana, and Steve Young. However, the group of quarterbacks in Green Bay could be considered the best of all-time.
Reischel takes a look back at Starr leading the Packers to the first two Super Bowl victories. Then he talks about all of the records that Favre set. Finally, a look at current Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and his rising stock as one of the best, in the NFL.
When he is not authoring books, he is a Packers contributor to Packers Plus. He is also the Sports Editor at News Publishing Company, which is a family of newspapers, in Wisconsin. Listen in and get the latest scoop on the Green Bay Packers.
