Halloween treat -- Bram Stoker, author of Dracula, perhaps the most acclaimed horror novel ever. Born in Dublin in 1847, Bram Stoker published his masterpiece, Dracula, in 1897. The book was a success, and its popularity has grown for over a century. A classic horror novel, Dracula inspired the creation of adaptations such as the 1931 film Dracula, starring Bela Lugosi. Dreamers Radio is excited to welcome Susan Stoker, author of Outback Hearts.
Taken from Susan Stoker's Amazon page:
"Susan Stoker has a heart as big as the state of Texas where she lives but this all American girl has also spent the last fourteen years living in Missouri, California, Colorado, and Indiana. She is quite the romantic and even met the love of her life on "Hotmail classified" before online dating and sites like match.com even existed!
Susan has been reading romance novels since middle school and once crossed out the names of the main characters in a book and changed them to her own and to the name of her crush. She's been writing scenes for years, developing her unique writing style.
Susan loves writing but her true passion is adopting dogs from rescue groups and shelters. Susan and her husband have had a total of nine "rescued" dogs since 2000 including a variety of basset hounds and bloodhounds. She has recently branched out and adopted a basset/terrier mix who acts more like a terrier than a basset (i.e. digging, eating a couch and being hyper). If you love romance and want to help her support adopting great dogs, be sure to check out her work."
You can find out more about her, keep informed of all her news, and snag a copy of her book at the below links!

Our modern American society is so fractured with violent rhetoric & periodic violent actions against each other. Many of the older generations remember a time when compromise was not such a dirty word of virtual political surrender to the other side. Times were more civil decades ago...or were they?
Our guest for Sunday, June 29 is Claire Connner Mork, who wrote the sensational and critically acclaimed book, "Wrapped in the Flag: A Personal History of America's Radical Right."
The truth is history really does repeat itself. Claire grew up in a household run by two Chicago area organizers of the radically conservative group The John Birch Society.
They filtered her world view with their own and checked her textbooks to make sure no liberal bias entered her young & powerfully developing mind. So, in the atmosphere of Cold War Joe McCarthy Communist witch hunts, young Claire Conner found herself at a "safe conservative" school in Dallas, Texas in November of 1963.
The roots of what is happening today can be traced to the history that Ms. Conner Mork experienced firsthand. I'm intrigued, aren't you?
We'll also discuss current events and recent relevant topics. Call (646) 478-3349 to listen (please mute your phone) or talk (please press 1 to be placed in the queue to speak with our guest and/or us).
Let's get the conversation going...
