What makes the brain function properly? What can you do to stimulate the mind into thinking harder about what you would like in life? is this really possible? I am not a doctor, and, I am not practicing medicine, but, I have watched people gain happiness by doing something different in life with what they already possess!
We read about pheromes and everyday we see signs of people getting rich by taking action on a thought they had! How many times have you kicked yourself for having and idea that never left the edge of your mind? What would you do to get happiness if you knew the secret to happiness? You have everything you need, because you possess the secret. No one taught it to you, you had it at birth! Yes, you were born right and had all you need at birth right, and, every country needs us to use what we possessed known as birth rights. Wow, what an incredible topic!
Tomorrow is Free-For-All-Firday at blogtalk radio with your host Jill Reed, so, show up and give us all you got!

Thoughts Love & Reflections with HOST James DeShay...
One of the most difficult aftereffects of brain injury is losing oneself. Depending on the injury and which part of the brain is impacted determines the type of emotional and behavioral change in one’s personality. A person who was agreeable, complacent, reasonable, and calm before the injury may change drastically to one who is violent, depressive, or struggles with anger management. These effects are not easy for others to understand – BUT, have you thought how difficult it must be for the survivor? My panel, M. S. survivor, Lisa Dryer and Brain Injury survivor, GeorgeAnna Bell will join me to discuss this sensitive topic.
Every TBI survivor and caregiver has encountered a fork in the road that has diverted his or her life-plan. A car accident, a fall from the roof, doing one more chin-up, or a door literally slamming one in the face are just some causes of traumatic brain injury. College plans, walking down the aisle in the perfect dress, or the coveted job quickly slip from reality as dreams turn to struggle. These unexpected life-happenings that divert one from his or her chosen path in life can be devastating. But as Yogi Berra once said, "If you come to a fork in the road, take it." Life is all about choices!

Black Cowboys ... Need I Say More?
We helped tame the West, moved cattle across great distances, were known as great horse-breakers, and excellent rodeo performers. Even the name "Cowboy" itself may refer to the slave cow herders who had experience moving cattle in Africa.
Join the controversial Alex Primo and ever-knowledgeable Asha Zuri Thursday May 5th, 2016 at 9 pm EST (6 pm PST, 7 pm MST, or 8 pm CST) as we explore the history of Black Cowboys and their legacy in America. As usual, we did the jobs that others wouldn't or couldn't do. Taming horses that haven't been properly broken. Cooking reasonable meals from meager rations. Even finding ways to soothe disgruntled cattle. Tune in and learn about your history, the Black Cowboy, the real heroes of the Wild West.

Jeff Sebell will talk from his 1st-hand knowledge of someone living with a TBI. He will discuss situations that have presented themselves over the years for him. and will continue to do so. He will talk about the differences he has found in the initial recovery period vs. the later stages of living with a TBI. What questions do we need to ask and how do we respond to different types of situations. This is something every brain damaged individual must come to terms with for themselves, and the answers may be as unique as the various people involved. When we think that we are acting correctly, we may or may not be (in the perception of those aroud us); and its crucial to resolve the conflicts within our own minds, as well as those within the non-head injured world in which we live. This show will focus on the style and writings of one individual living in the "normal universe" with an abnormal condition. This is something that plagues every TBI victim daily and the solutions are not obvious. This will apply to all sorts of conflicts and promises to be a tale we need to listen to!
Join Devin and Melissa Pellew, Chapter Directors of Ratio Christi at Winthrop University, each week at they discuss topics related to biblical theology, Christian apologetics and biblical worldview issues. As Christians celebrate the National Day of Prayer today and as our atheist friends concurrently celebrate the National Day of Reason, how should we as Christians respond? Is there a contradiction between praying to God and employing reason? Today, Devin will be sharing thoughts on how naturalists have hijacked science and illegitimately and erroneously imposed a dichotomy between the love of science and the existence and worship of God. You do not want to miss this important episode!
My guest is Debra Pyka, a mother who is trying to bring awareness to not only prevent suicide, but to warn of the dangers of sports and head trauma to our youth. She will be discussing her son Joseph's life story, playing sports, CTE which led to years of depression and ultimately, his suicide. Joseph's brother Seth will join us, since they played sports all through their childhood together. She has tried to contact politicians, White House and Michelle Obama, with no one concerned or responding to her. She also wants to shed light on the responsibility of the NFL with the research started 20 years ago, to warn all parents of the dangers of concussions/head trauma and future effects, which the NFL denied for many years. More young people are dying from sports related injuries than ever. sportslegacy.org/research/legacy-donors/joseph-chernach Debbie was one of the Mom's who among many, including Kimberly Archie, went to the Capital last month during Brain Injury Awareness Month 2016.
This show is a gathering place for anyone seeking recovery from the challenges of life on life's terms. I introduce topics, and survivor's share their experience, strength and hope. We discuss useful tools that have helped us lighten the load, of our journey through recovery.
This is a "we" recovery program, because it is in the "we," that we find the new "me."
We focus on the four A's of Recovery...Awareness, Acceptance, Action and Adaptation. This is a place for survivor's striving to become thrivers. :)
Front portion of show is featured guest, second part of the show is Open Mic and some great Indy Music, sure to inspire!
