Keeping It Real - Brain Injury Radio - Dream Catchers

    in Motivation

Keeping It Real - Dream Catchers - LesPaul Morgan
Keeping it real to me means taking charge of our future and having the courage to do something meaningful with it!
As survivors we need to develop new strategies and coping skills and realize that whatever happened bad in your life doesn’t define us it’s what you do about the rest of your lfe that defines you destiny!!!
I was very encorged to speak with a large number of disability youth leaders this week while at the APRIL the voice of rural Independent Living conference with Craig Sicilia and let me tell you these youg people are really wonderful people to be around because they are very Insiring and motivational to be around!!!!
So tonight I am going to be asking some tough questions that will take a lot of courage to answer but they need to be asked because are we going to let disability define us or are we will to define who we are by daring to be different no matter what.
Join in tonight on Dream Catchers with Les Paul and lets come up with Ideas together to Keep It Real!!!!

Brain Injury Radio - I HAD A DREAM -with Craig Sicilia

    in Radio

    I HAD A DREAM

M.L.K. is the master of advocacy a advocacy that changes hearts and minds knowing it takes generations of advocacy and hard work he began a journey that was not popular in the minds of those who stood to lose the most and those they influenced.  It was a fight started a hundred years before him and will be going on a hundred years after.  But the king taught man to stand up for what they believe, to not accept how things are.  He as well paid the ultimate price for his believes.  Until Dr. King we humans did not know what it was to stand up for something greater than ourselves  To stand up to change what people think and how they treat another person.  We will Honor Dr. King and talk about his history as it relates to our future.

So many of us who are living in the aftermath of a brain injury understand this.  And as people, our communities and society in general are largely clueless what brain injury means.  Hell it takes us survivors who live with it everyday years to even begin to understand.  We asking people to understand and accept something they cannot see.  And in many cases something we can’t explain or cope with.  And most of the time by the time we can begin to explain or understand it, there is no one left to share it with.  And like most movements those who feel so deeply and step up to bring change will never see the change in people’s hearts and minds.  You can have all the laws and acts and everything else but none of it means a thing until it is in people’s hearts and minds.

How do we change hearts and minds, how do we find each other.  Reach out find someone don’t be alone, then together find others.  Find that voice that we have in common and change the world.

    BRAIN INJURY RADIO - CHANGE

    in Social Networking

    SPECIAL LABOR DAY SHOW
WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON
You all get to be the first to know, it has been a epic turn of emotions within myself, as I become confortable with who I am the world continues to have a different vision for me.  I want everyone to know I absolutely love what I do and believe everything I say, and the hope I see is beyond my wildest imagination.  The fact remains the world is cold and hard and people will let you down.  Between organization bullshit, psychopathic liars, organizations working to brand themselves.  As much as I love something my continued path is going to lead me to homelessness, it has already broke me.  I am not giving up, though I will be discontinuing a lot of the things I was involved with mainly because it is breaking me, and secondly the powers that believe don’t believe in the message.
As well along the way my heart fell for someone, I didn’t even recognize it, and to have my essence fall for someone I really don’t know and I certainly could never read how they felt so I will never know but its been part of this change.  There becomes a time when we must move on, between the politics, this love that don’t make since, and games that people play, I am done, my focus is going to be the radio network, sustaining brain injury groups, I am meeting with my assistant this week Linda, she has to be the key to it all.  She will continue with the web work and networking that survivors need that only survivors can bring, I will be working with our new board, they are going to be doing some amazing things creating new groups and communities, I am going to put a lot of effort in moving in which will be through the public libraries and hopefully available nationally, as well as fitness, art and social group models.  This is going to be a huge let down for some. up close and personal

BEST OF BRAIN INJURY RADIO - PRERECORDED

    in Self Help

Brain Injury - The Silent Epidemic - Pre recordeded sept 2010 What The Hell You Think I look Fine!!! If your a survivor then you know what I am talking about, you can be sitting with someone and they say well I would have never thought you have a brain injury, people don't get it. We can change this, lots of education needs to happen in our communities. The effects of this not being understood destroys families and lives There are lots of families doing... great things for their survivors, but in a lot of cases TBI goes misunderstood, and lives are torn apart, family member begin to believe the actions are intentional. The countless lives that have been lost. it does not have to be that hard. We need to reach out and educate our community.

    WTF Where's the focus radio
    THERE IS NOTHING NEW!
    with Kevin Phillips
As a TBI Thriver, I have concluded there is nothing new in the Universe, just new to us, individually. Since acquiring a TBI, one can anticipate a bounty of changes, to include but not limited to; friends, family, employment and my favorite, Perceptions. Thomas Jefferson contributed "All men are created equal" and we have the right to "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness", but as we look around, what are most really pursuing, let alone 'DOING'? Moving Forward... Join Kevin as he shares his experience and historical examples of mankind creating a "better way" so you too, can always discover something new.
