In honor of Jim Beam’s 150th birthday, wei took a trip to Clermont, Kentucky to tour the place where bourbon is born. We visited the Jim Beam distillery and warehouses and got an up close look - and taste - of the bourbon making process.
One of the highlights of the trip was meeting and interviewing Jim Beam Noe - great grandson of Jim Beam. For today’s show we thought we’d play that interview for you. The Stillhouse was a little noisy and our audio quality is rough at times, but if you pour yourself a tall glass of bourbon, plop yourself down in a rocking chair, and give it a listen, you’re going to want to hit the Bourbon Trail and pay tribute to Jim Beam yourself. Cheers!
Here's a link to some more pictures from our visit to Louisville and the distillery in Clermont.
What goes together better than cars, drinking, and laughs?....What?.... Oh well actually our lawyers are saying that came out wrong....
How about just kicking back and talking about cars and the car-guy's world while enjoying a stiff drink, or tasty brew? Ok we've been told that's better. We will attempt to cover all of those bases in this weekly show where we present to you as much probably less-than-factual news, reviews, and updates on stuff car guys care about! What the hell is going in new cars and in our car-centric culture in general? Find out with Matt and Jay every week!
This week we alter our state of minds, and return to a time in automotive history when boost crazed engineers were running the production lines! Matt and Jay connect the dots between the wild forced induction 80's, and the coming storm of turbo powered domestic vehicles! In keeping with the "AMERICA F#$K YEAH!" theme we tap into the cask of one of our country's greatest exports, and along with Professor Petrol discover the glory of the Bourbon Trail. Please keep up with the conversation as always on Twitter @TheWheelMenShow, and Instagram! Of course you can always grab visuals from our stories, videos, and links to our episodes on our FB page - Facebook/TheWheelMen. Thank you for downloading!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maple Syrup isn’t just for pancakes. Pure maple syrup enhances the flavor of many foods and is slightly sweeter than cane sugar. It features 54 antioxidants positioning the flavorful syrup among other fruits and vegetables well-known for health benefits. Nate Bissell is the 6th generation owner of Bissell Maple Farm, and his family has been making maple syrup in Ohio since the late 1800's.You thought all maple syrup came from Vermont! Like fine wines, pure maple syrup gets its unique flavor from the geographic region. How do you improve the deliciousness maple syrup? Bissell Maple Farm, in collaboration with Pappy & Company, launched a gourmet product, Pappy & Company Bourbon Barrel-Aged Syrup, at the Summer Fancy Food Show in NY. The product is created by aging Bissell's top-quality Sugarmaker's Reserve™ syrup in rare, 23 year-old Pappy Van Winkle bourbon barrels. Bissell Maple Farm starts with sap produced at the peak of the maple harvesting season, during a very specific window when the Red Maple and Sugar Maple trees are producing a limited quantity of pristine sap. The Sugarmaker's Reserve™ syrup produced from this sap is then aged 100 days in barrels that have been used for years to distill Pappy Van Winkle bourbon whiskey in Frankfort, KY. Two American traditions, maple syrup and bourbon, become one, and they are perfect together! Try it with cheesecake, creme brulee, meat rubs, cocktails, and marinades. Under Nate’s leadership since 2011, Bissell Maple Farm is a blend of state of-the-art technology and old fashioned ingenuity. After the interview, check After Hours at Jersey Coastal Live for more info.
In the "Steve Schreiber stole our opening question" edition, Jeffrey and Greg deal with some constructive feedback from the listeners with some constructive feedback for the Mets. More Jacob deGrom and Travis d'Arnaud, less Wilmer Flores at shortstop and bench at-bats for starters. Next we discuss the Dillon Gee DFA and Jeffrey's (last?!) trip to Binghamton. Then it is time for your e-mails on bourbon, the Mets first round pick, the low offensive environement, and (sigh) a potential Daniel Murphy extension. Finally, we wrap things up with Jeffrey grousing about the goings on in South Yorkshire.

Author Cary Black is the author of “Katrina: A Freight Train Screamin’.” The book tells the real story of the worst natural disaster to hit the United States. It chronicles the stories of the people who were on the ground savings lives, the people who were reaching out to rescue the millions of abandoned animals, and the people who survived and heroically came back, dug in, and rebuilt their lives from the chaos. The stories reflect the thoughts of regular folks having to fight for their lives and finding heroism in their souls as they struggled to deal with the enormity of the storm.
