Bouncing Back after Dropping the Ball, 18 Lessons on Journey of Forgiveness with Judge Carla L. Garrett
Carla L. Garrett is taking her message of forgiveness to greater heightd, in her newest book: BOUNCING BACK after DROPPING the BALL: 18 Life Lessons on the Journey to Forgiveness is a mixture of a novel and a “how-to” book, specifically, a book on how to forgive. The story involves a married woman who learns that her husband of 16 years has a secret life—secret women, secret kids, secret condos, etc.—and her struggle not to kill him, literally. Her desire to end his life grows as his behavior worsens, as he exacts his own revenge against her for deciding to leave him. Instead, she eventually learns to redirect her rage, after acknowledging her extended anger had changed her in unflattering ways, and embraces the notion of forgiveness. Forgiveness, she discovers, is neither an intuitive nor easy process, but she becomes the beneficiary of wonderful rewards as a result of her hard work. The book is designed to help those who have been betrayed to get through the process without destroying themselves (spiritually, mentally, or emotionally) or others, and shares 18 life lessons to get them to the point of true forgiveness.

Change is the only constant in life. For most, change is a conscious choice, usually taken to improve your life in some manner. But what happens when life chooses for you? How do you cope when change is forced upon you—a health crisis occurs, a relationship suddenly ends, a close friend or relative dies, you get laid off at work? How do you rise to the occasion? People usually respond by becoming a victim, a survivor, or a thriver.

Resilience is the ability to face and handle life's challenges, whether everyday disappointments or extraordnary disasters. While resilence is innate in the brain, over time we learn unhelpful patterns, which then become fixed in our neural circuity.
But Science is now revealing that what previously seemed hardwired can be rewired, and Linda's new book Bouncing Back shows us.
With powerful, time-tested exercises, Linda Graham guides us in rebuilding our core well-being and disaster-proofing our brains. www.lindgraham-mft.net
