Of all the names and numbers reported in the May issue of Christian Standard, we'll introduce you to three of them in this helpful episode:
Brian Kruckenberg, lead pastor with New City Church in Phoenix, Arizona will talk about his congregation's remarkable growth, 61.5% in 2014!
The second fastest-growing church reporting to us was Lifepointe Church in Raleigh, NC at 36.2 percent. Donnie Williams, Lifepointe's lead pastor, will join our panel.
Our third guest is Bo Chancey, senior pastor with Manchester (NH) Christian Church. This congregation achieved the highest baptism ratio, 17.7 percent. That means for every 100 people in the congregation's 2014 average, the church baptized almost 18 people.
We want to know how these congregations achieved this kind of outreach. Please listen for ideas and be ready to ask your questions of these dynamic church leaders.

Viki Winterton interviews Anne Redelfs!
Anne Redelfs is a retired psychiatrist who has been studying human beings for as long as she can remember. She has a bachelor’s degree from Duke University and a medical degree from Tulane University, where she completed two years of residency in pediatrics and three years in psychiatry at Tulane-affiliated hospitals. However, she considers life her greatest teacher. She passes on this instruction to others that they too might learn to listen to their lives.
In her book, The Awakening Storm, readers join Anne on her evacuation from her New Orleans home as Hurricane Katrina approaches and in the trauma of the ensuing levee disaster. In between story lines, they learn about post-traumatic stress disorder in layman's terms and the stunted psychological development that results from chronic, untreated traumatic experience. Most importantly, readers become practiced in helping to remedy these epidemic conditions - within themselves, within their relationships, and throughout society.

Mission: To wake the American people and its government to the war being waged against us. If I must do this one person at a time I will continue until the right person who is able to act with authority sets the pace. in Pop Culture
News stories of pedophilia create near daily outrage. Whether high profile offenders like Josh Duggar or the quiet guy next door the stories shock and sicken. Conversations from the water cooler to the bars range from revulsion to 'here's what I'd do,' which infers vigilatism.
Two time Emmy winning journalist and producer Art Harris has reported on and written about many such cases. A veteran journalist, he created The Bald Truth, a popular news blog with attitude that counts well over a million page views its first year, and draws on Art’s three decades covering celebrity, politics, war, true crime, pop culture and Hollywood. It’s scoops are often featured and linked at ETonline, Huff Po, People.com, New York Post’s Page Six, CelebTV.com and others.
Josh Duggar, Mike Huckabee & the Complicated Relationship the South Has with Sin & Denial is the title of a recent post in The Broad Side by journalist & author Suzi Parker. Parker writes for The Daily Beast, The Economist, and The Christian Science Monitor and others. .
Author & publisher SJ Dunn's shock and horror at learning of the childhood sexual abuse of a friend prompted her to write her novel about three women who are adult survivors of child sexual abuse. In ANGRY ENOUGH TO KILL what begins as a 'what if' conversation one night over wine becomes a plan to stalk and kill a predator.
Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! as Scott interviews two Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas authors, Buck Storm and Karen Campbell Prough.
Buck Storm grew up in Yuma, Arizona—a true son of the American Southwest. He's marked time as a commercial diver, fisherman, sailor, and musician. As a singer/songwriter and purveyor of tales, he's bounced around the planet with a guitar and a pocketful of stories and has made friends in venues across the country. Whether lyrics or prose, Buck writes about this mixed-up, out of control, beautiful cacophony we call humanity. Buck and his wife Michelle have a happy love story, a hideout in North Idaho, and two wonderful children. The Miracle Man is his first novel.
Karen Campbell Prough grew up with a love for old books and steadfast characters. She spent some of her childhood entertaining younger brothers with short stories created by a wild imagination. She and her husband Edward have often camped in the Georgia Mountains, and there she placed the characters of her first book, The Girl Called Ella Dessa.
Jim was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota. In 2005, he took a class called Writing From Your Life, which focused on creative nonfiction. The class rekindled his love for writing. In 2009, he enrolled in AllWriters' Workplace and Workshop which provided a peer critique group that encouraged and stretched him as a writer.
Jim loves outdoor sports. It was his love of camping in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in northern Minnesota that led him to write a memoir about trips he took to the area in the late '80's. The book was published by eLectio Publishing in June of 2014.
Jim's poetry collection, Written Life, was recently accepted for publication by eLectio Publishing and will be released on 3/31/2015. More information about his upcoming book release events can be found on his Events page.
Jim graduated from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, with a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Anthropology. He has been employed in mapping and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for over 25 years. He works as a GIS Analyst for Waukesha County in the Parks and Land Use Department.
