Tune in and join me as I welcome this week's guest.

Author Grier Cooper joins me this week to talk about her book: Wish, (Indigo Dreams Series Book 1)

For Indigo Stevens, ballet classes at Miss Roberta’s ballet studio offer the stability and structure that are missing from her crazy home life. At almost 16, she hopes this is the year she will be accepted into the New York School of Ballet so she can begin her ballet dance career. First she must prove she’s ready, and that means ignoring Jesse Sanders, the cute boy with dimples who is definitely at the top of Miss Roberta’s List of Forbidden Things for Dancers.

But Jesse is the least of Indigo’s concerns. When she discovers her mom is an alcoholic, it simultaneously explains everything and heaps more worry on Indigo’s shoulders. As her mom’s behavior becomes increasingly erratic, Indigo fights to maintain balance, protect her younger brothers from abuse, and keep her mother from going over the edge. But life with an alcoholic parent is unpredictable. When the violence at home escalates, Indigo realizes she can no longer dance around the issue. At the risk of losing everything, she must take matters into her own hands before it’s too late.

    Indie Books #88 (Michael Williamson)

    in Books

Tune in and join me as I welcome this week's guest.

Author Michael Williamson joins me this week to talk about his book: Secret Betrayal and more.

The desperate act of a young girl, on the cusp of womanhood, to lose herself in the mean streets and cabarets of 1930s Berlin, and years later, the disappearance of a key American general shortly before D-Day in 1944 are links in an ingenious plot to gain the secrets of the Allied invasion.

Through a series of traumatic events Reichsletter Martin Bormann, the man more than any other that truly ran the German government toward the end of World War II, sets in motion a deadly gambit that ricochets across half the world and gains Bormann possession of the Normandy invasion plans. In the double dealing, back stabbing chaos that was the Nazi inner circle, this climactic information is the currency that will buy Bormann the one thing that he has desired above all others: the right to be the next Fuhrer.

So unfolds the dynamic pages of Secret Betrayal. This novel is a testament to the redemptive power of love, the evolutionary power of kundalini yoga and the war within a war waged by Reichsletter Martin Bormann and Reichsfuhrer Heinrich Himmler for the mind of and influence over Adolf Hitler.

    Indie Books #87 (Dwayne Epstein)

    in Books

Tune in and join me as I welcome this week's guest.

Author Dwayne Epstein joins me this week to talk about his book - Lee Marvin: Point Blank.

The first full-length, authoritative, and detailed story of the iconic actor's life to go beyond the Hollywood scandal-sheet reporting of earlier books, this account offers an appreciation for the man and his acting career and the classic films he starred in, painting a portrait of an individual who took great risks in his acting and career. Although Lee Marvin is best known for his icy tough guy roles—such as his chilling titular villain in The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance or the paternal yet brutally realistic platoon leader in The Big Red One—very little is known of his personal life; his family background; his experiences in WWII; his relationship with his father, family, friends, wives; and his ongoing battles with alcoholism, rage, and depression, occasioned by his postwar PTSD. Now, after years of researching and compiling interviews with family members, friends, and colleagues; rare photographs; and illustrative material, Hollywood writer Dwayne Epstein provides a full understanding and appreciation of this acting titan’s place in the Hollywood pantheon in spite of his very real and human struggles.

Tune in and join me as I welcome this week's guest.

Author Robert Lovelle Rooks joins me this week to talk about his book:: The Guidon Bearer: A Basic Training Story

Boot Camp. Otherwise known as Basic Military Training. The rigorous and memorable Rite of Passage every person who ever served in the United States Armed Forces, whether Coast Guard, Navy, Marine Corps, Army or Air Force has been through. If you have ever served or know anyone who has served ask them about Basic Training. They will remember. "The Guidon Bearer" is a semi-fictitious account of one man's journey through Air Force Basic Military Training [Around the year 2000]. Unlike the other four services, anyone who served in the U.S. Air Force has gone through the exact same place: Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, TX. Here's a story all veterans will relate to, non-service-members will find entertaining and all Air Force veterans past, present and future will give a big thumbs up! Maybe even wonder if they were there when it happened.

    in Books

Tune in and join me as I welcome this week's guest.

Indie Books reaches all the way down to Brazil this week as Author and playwright Gordon Osmond joins me this week to talk about his books.  We'll start out with Slipping on Stardust and the sequel Turner's Point.  We'll also chat about his Unauthorized Autobiography, Wet Firecrackers as well as his other writing.

    From Slipping on Stardust:

There’s nothing like the arrival of a Hollywood star to stir the passions of the people of Johnson, a sleepy small town in Ohio. During his stay with Johnson’s most physically appealing family, the star shakes up the lives of the reigning queen of the local theatre scene, her lawyer husband, and the couple’s handsome but sexually undecided son. Add a scandal at the husband’s law firm and a kidnapping with suicide demanded as ransom and you have what propels family members to New York City and Hollywood and Gordon Osmond’s debut novel to its shattering conclusion. Those who have ever been involved in small-town life, regional theatre, adolescent rebellion, or legal entanglements, and those who admire the works of Oscar Wilde and Kurt Vonnegut, to whose writing style Osmond’s has been likened, will find themselves within the fast-turning pages of Slipping on Stardust.

CUTV News Radio spotlights personal coach Betsey Neely of In Your Wildest Dreams

    in Self Help

Atlanta, GA – According to a recent survey, 84 percent of young people are delaying major life decisions due to the slow economy. They’re buying fewer homes, starting families later, and exploring fewer opportunities. Indeed, while the world continues to negotiate significant transition, young people have stayed in place.

Betsey Neely is a personal coach and the founder of In Your Wildest Dreams, where she applies the wisdom and skills developed from counseling, teaching and law into a unique approach for navigating the journey toward your “next chapter” of life. Through the process of Creative Life Planning, Betsey helps her clients change careers, recover from divorce, overcome a major setback or reinvent themselves.

“I have a lot of interest and care for the people who seek me out,” says Betsey. “You have within you the confidence to thrive. With the right combination of strategies and support, we will unlock that confidence and you’ll be on your way to a more fulfilling life.”

Though Betsey says she intended her target market to be women not unlike herself, she was surprised to find her clients were overwhelmingly younger people, particularly men and women in their 30s facing transition who had never been offered any guidance in deciding what they might want to do with their career. Betsey uses her experience to help guide and direct young people how to find themselves and explore opportunities.

“You can’t find your career until you know yourself and you know your strengths,” says Betsey. “That involves looking carefully at your aptitude, your strengths, experiences, education, interests, even the people you gravitate to at a cocktail party.”
