David Lehman and his new book on FRANK SINATRA on Authors on the Air LIVE

    in Books

Authors on the Air host Pam Stack welcomes two very fine authors to the studio - David Lehman and Will Graham - to discuss David's new book about Frank Sinatra - SINATRA'S CENTURY. One hundred notes on the Man and his World. On the occasion of the centenary of the most beloved and enduring entertainer of our time, Sinatra’s Century is a warmly celebratory collection of one hundred short reflections on the man, his music, and his larger-than-life story—by the widely respected poet, editor, and critic David Lehman., longtime editor of the Best American Poetry series and author of books including A Fine Romance: Jewish Songwriters, American Songs  In charming, witty prose, Lehman uses each of these hundred short pieces as an occasion to look back on one facet of the Sinatra story—from the singer’s origins on the streets of Hoboken, to his emergence as “The Voice” in the 1940s, to the wild ebb and flow of his career in the decades that followed. Lehman revisits stories new and familiar.

Will Graham is a best-selling author and afficionado of all things Sinatra and the Rat Pack.  He joins host Pam Stack for this evening's discussion about his favorite singer Frank Sinatra.    LIVE at 9pm ET / 6pm PT - call in to chat 347-633-9609.  http://www.blogtalkradio.com/authorsontheair/2016/01/14/david-lehman-and-will-graham-on-frank-sinatra-on-authors-on-the-air-live

Talking heads ,book nerds Stephen Campbell & Pam Stack discuss books and authors

    in Books

In a very special presentation, tonight former colleagues and author interviewers Stephen Campbell, host of the Author Biz and Pam Stack, host of Authors on the  sit down to discuss authors, books and interviewing.

Join these two book nerds for a LIVE chat about the best job in the world.

About Stephen Campbell:  Before getting into the business of writing I spent twenty-five years in the technology business as a financial guy, and then as a serial entrepreneur. I know what it takes to start and run a successful business. Will that experience translate into me becoming a successful author? Ha! The answer is no, of course not. But I did learn a few important lessons while running my own businesses. One of those was importance of being guided by experts. I'll be bringing those experts in on a weekly basis so we can all learn from them.

About Pam Stack:  I've always been a voracious reader plus a public speaker so when I was asked to co-host a radio talk show, it seemed like the natural next step for me.  I love hosting the Authors on the Air radio show and being the executive producer of the Authors on the Air Global Radio Network.  I get to speak to the most interesting people; I'm the luckiest blabber-mouth in the world.

Legendary author Nelson DeMille is LIVE with his new book on Authors on the Air

    in Books

Authors on the Air host Pam stack welcomes literary giant Nelson DeMille.  From Mr. Demille:  My first books were paperback originals, New York City police detective novels, thankfully all out of print and hard to find.  In 1978, I published my first major novel, "By the Rivers of Babylon," which was a commercial and critical success. Since then, I've written fourteen other novels and had a good time creating my characters John Corey, Ben Tyson (played by Don Johnson in the TNT movie of "Word of Honor"), foxy Emma Whitestone, Paul Brenner (played by John Travolta in the Paramount movie of "The General's Daughter"), sexy Susan Sutter, the never-say-die CIA officer Ted Nash, and my favorite villain, Asad Khalil, a misunderstood Libyan terrorist with unresolved childhood issues. RADIANT ANGEL is his new book. After a showdown with the notorious Yemeni terrorist known as The Panther, John Corey has left the Anti-Terrorist Task Force and returned home to New York City, taking a job with the Diplomatic Surveillance Group. Although Corey's new assignment with the DSG-surveilling Russian diplomats working at the U.N. Mission-is thought to be "a quiet end," he is more than happy to be out from under the thumb of the FBI and free from the bureaucracy of office life. But Corey realizes something the U.S. government doesn't: The all-too-real threat of a newly resurgent Russia. When Vasily Petrov, a colonel in the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service posing as a diplomat with the Russian U.N. Mission, mysteriously disappears from a Russian oligarch's party in Southampton, it's up to Corey to track him down.

Miami Herald book and movie reviewer Connie Ogle LIVE on Authors on the Air

    in Books

Miami Herald book and movie reviewer Connie Ogle chats with Authors on the Air host Pam Stack LIVE on Wednesday evening.  We will discuss her favorite books and movies and perhaps throw in a little college football (Connie is quite the sport fan, too).  I'd also like to hear her thoughts on traditional publishing versus independent publishing, now that it has passed it's infancy.  Connie is a well-known face at book signings and literary events in South Florida. She's a dog-lover, University of Florida fan-atic, movie freak and generally a pretty funny and interesting lady.   Please join me on Wednesday at 8pm ET when we chat LIVE.  Call to comment, ask a question or talk sports.  347-633-9609.

Author Jacqueline Garlick brings steampunk to life on Authors on the Air LIVE

    in Books

Authors on the Air host Pam Stack welcomes Jacqueline Garlick to the show.  Jackie and I chat about her steampunk novels, her YA series and her new book about speed writing plots.  This is going to be a fun and interesting program. Listen LIVE from any Wi-Fi enabled device at 9pm ET / 6pm PT in the link provided.

    ABOUT JACKIE:

I'm Jacqueline Garlick, author of young adult and new adult fiction. I love strong heroines, despise whiny sidekicks, and adore a good story about a triumphant underdog. (Doesn't everyone?) I have an on-going love/hate relationship with chocolate, grammar, and technology? I prefer creating things to cleaning things, and I love cinnamon tea. There will always be tea.

I've been called the Quentin Tarantino of YA, because of my edgy, risk-taking, Tim Burton-esque style writing. I've also been called Little Erin, because of my passion for righteousness. In my former life I was a teacher, so you'll have to excuse that. To find out more about me, and other exciting writing adventures click: www.jacquelinegarlick.com, and be sure to sign up for my NEWSLETTER and get your free read while you're there!

Other ways to get hold of me:

    email: garlickbooks@gmail.com

I'm usually in my writing cave but I'll break out to talk to you, so write me! I LOVE to hear from readers!

  • Florida thriller author, SEAN T. SMITH is LIVE on Authors on the Air

    in Books

Authors on the Air host Pam Stack welcomes thriller and mystery novelist Sean T. Smith.  https://seantsmithauthor.wordpress.com/

Sean started writing fiction after moving back to Florida, and now relishes the broader canvas a novel affords, though he''s still known to pick up his guitar from time to time. He considers being a dad the best thing about him, for his children make him a better man. The love of his wife, who also happens to be his best friend and muse, inspires him to keep writing.

Sean is almost finished with his fifth novel, and already working on number six. At the same time, he is writing for an international video game developer for THE SEED, to be released in 2016.
