"In the cloud-washed airspace between the cornfields of Illinois and blue infinity, a man puts his faith in the propeller of his biplane. For disillusioned writer and itinerant barnstormer Richard Bach, belief is as real as a full tank of gas and sparks firing in the cylinders ...until he meets Donald Shimoda - former mechanic and self-described messiah who can make wrenches fly and Richard's imagination soar...In Illusions, the unforgettable follow-up to his phenomenal New York Times bestseller Jonathan Livingston Seagull, Richard Bach takes to the air to discover the ageless truths that give our souls wings: that people don't need airplanes to soar ...that even the darkest clouds have meaning once we lift ourselves above them ...and that messiahs can be found in the unlikeliest places - like hay fields, one-traffic-light midwestern towns, and most of all, deep within ourselves."
Published in 1977, this book has continued to entertain, fascinate and educate readers throughout the decades. Join us for a discussion of Illusions by Richard Bach.
What Color Is Monday?
How Autism Changed One Family For The Better
In this moving memoir, What Color Is Monday?: How Autism Changed One Family For The Better (Feb, 2015), Carrie Cariello invites us to take a peek into exactly what it takes to get through each day juggling the needs of her whole family. Through hilarious mishaps, honest insights, and heartfelt letters addressed to her children, she shows us the beauty and wonder of raising a child who views the world through a different lens, and how ultimately autism changed her family for the better.
As a busy mom of five kids, four sons and one daughter, she chronicles family adventures and experiences; most of which we can all readily relate to. Her words so aptly describe the chaos of life within a big family, along with the quiet moments that seem so ordinary but are often extraordinary. She’s honest and funny, sometimes emotional, but always noticing the little things that often get overlooked in the course of a whirlwind of a day; and by the way, one of her sons, Jack, has autism.
Autism may be part of their daily lives, but it doesn’t define life within the Cariello family. The book’s title references a conversation Cariello had with her son Jack, who asked one day what color she saw for Monday. Until then, she had no idea that he saw all days as colors, and in retelling the story she said, “On a seemingly ordinary day, Jack once again granted me the privilege to take a tiny peek inside his fascinating mind.”
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Carrie Cariello lives in Southern New Hampshire with her husband, Joe, and their five children.

in The Bible
This evening we are going to continue to take an indepth look at one the most controversial and insightful books of the New Testament, The Letter of James.
As previously noted, James was the half brother of our Lord, Yahshua Ha Mashiach, aka, Jesus The Christ. (Mark 6:3; Acts 12;17; Acts 21:18)
Like Yahshua, his older brother, James was not called James, the Englishized version of his name, but rather, by his Hebrew name, Ya'akov.
Among the primary subjects addressed by James are: warning against prejudice (2:1-13); faith and works (2:14-26); the use of the tongue (3:1-12); worldliness (4:1-17) and, prayer for the sick (5:13-16).
(FOOTNOTE: Ya'akov/jJames,the brother of Yahshua, was known as James The Just. He was not an apostle, but rather an overseer (bishop), selected by the apostles.James was the Bishop of Jerusalem and remained so until his death in 62 AD. Though selected and consecrated by the apostles to the office of Bishop; it appears that he carried as much weight, if not more, than the apostles who appointed him (Acts 12:17; Acts 15:13-19). James, like the other early church fathers, was martyred. James was stoned and then beatten to death with a club, in the holy city of Jerusalem in 62 AD.)
