    Muslim Condemns Boko Haram

    in Religion

Boko Haram abducted over 300 girls in the name of Islam. As a devout Muslim, Dr. Faheem Younus takes this personally. He says this action should be condemned by every Muslim leader and practical steps should be taken to bring such thugs to justice.

Have you had your healthy dose of reality lately?

There are always at least two sides to every story. Have you ever wondered how someone, who saw the same thing you did, walked away telling a vastly different story? Which version was correct? Which one was the REAL story? Actually, both are! It’s just a matter of perspective.

Joe takes the issues… especially the controversial issues (politics, prejudice, religion, illegal immigration)… and brings in people from different sides to share their viewpoint. This is definitely not a fluff piece. And while no one is attacked, the questions are hard-hitting.

But the conversation is always respectful and you’re sure to learn something new, even if you don’t agree!

If you’ve always wondered how the “other side” thinks and how they’ve arrived at their “stand”, then this is the show for you!

It’s not the right side, it’s not the wrong side, but the REAL side of the issues!

    in Politics Conservative

These bastards have been running aound since 2002, kidnapping Christian girls and boys, but they targeted moslems in their latest atrocity, and NOW the World is speaking out?

Founded by Mohammed Yusuf in 2002,the organization seeks to establish a "pure" Islamic state ruled by sharia, putting a stop to what it deems Westernization. The group is known for attacking Christians and government targets, bombing churches, schools and police stations, and kidnapping western tourists, but has also assassinated members of the Islamic establishment. Violence linked to the Boko Haram insurgency has resulted in an estimated 10,000 deaths between 2002 and 2013.

C.D. - By the "Book": Boko Haram - Forbidden Transgression

    in Current Events

Given the recent events in Nigeria, due to the actions of the Nigerian group known as Boko Haraam,we at Critical Discourse have taken it upon ourselves to bring this to the table.

SInce heir inception, some sources stating as far back as 1995,they've been associated with wanton acts of viloence and carnage, But it was the recent abduction of schools girls from the town of Chibok, that has really caused the world to take serious notice, and demand justice.

Notwithstanding the historic dynamics and tensions, much of tribal, that have plauged Nigeria since colonial days, this present crisis brings to the table, the reaction, attitudes and frankly, examination of doctrine of Muslims / Al-Islam.

It is our desire for this show, to clarify what Al-Islam says about such acts; needless to say, they are unacceptable and outright haraam (forbidden).

This crisis opens up the discussion on a number of sensitive issues around the status and dignity of women in and out of Al-Islam, so that the case be made, that their security, dignity and protection are held sacred.

This should prove to be a most engaging and informative airing of Critical Discourse.

The Forbidden Books (Boko Haram) Nigeria's War on Terror

    in Radio

What ISIS is to Iraq AND Syria, and Al-Qaida is to Afghanistan, that is what Boko Haram is to Nigeria.  This diffuse Salafist sect has attacked Nigeria's police and military, politicians, schools, religious buildings, public institutions, market places, and civilians consistently in Northern Nigeria, but they have since gained confidence and now encroaching Southern parts of Nigeria. They have abducted several hundreds of children, women and girls to the world’s disgusts and destroyed townships, while they put terror in the hearts of Nigerian law enforcement institutions.  Up until few days ago, the Nigerian Government had denied the obvious advancement and atrocities caused by Boko Haram perhaps as political strategy amidst the very heated and looming presidential election coming up in few weeks.

Experts argue that the group existence is due to the fundamental Salafist incubation that social development neglect of the region brewed. Others view the group as an armed revolt against government corruption, abusive security forces, and widening regional economic disparity. Most agree that the Federal Government of Nigeria could have and should have done more to address the strife.
