The Mysteries of Human Existence with NASA Engineer David Gaggin

    in Spirituality

Are you curious about who you are and why you are living this life?

We each see the world we live in and understand our place in it from a unique and personal perspective. This perspective is shaped by a variety of factors - the influence of our parents and previous generations, religious beliefs, scientific discoveries, philosophical viewpoints, and our level of metaphysical understanding. Most of our outlooks in this matter have been formed with a substantial amount of biases and prejudices. Most of us have not taken extensive personal journeys of discovery with completely open minds.

Today's special guest David Gaggin has done that for us. With a scientifically trained mind he has.searched through an enormous amount of data and numerous different accounts and perspectives to create a realistic picture of who we are and why we are here. He says that enough evidence is available to convince even the most skeptical mind.

In his groundbreaking book, The Endless Journey: A Unique Perspective on Mankind's Origin, Purpose and Ultimate Destiny, David Gaggin brings the truth to light for us after years of compiling research from every perspective he could think of. He explains why our world, one that seems chaotic, irrational, and evil, is not really that way - that it is just an illusion we are experiencing.

David Gaggin holds a masters degree in Electrical Engineering. His successful career included working as an electrical engineer for Boeing, NASA, and the U.S. Army before he went on to create Cobham Defense Electronics Systems. Today he is here to share what he acquired through his quest for knowledge about the meaning of life.

God, Science, and Religion: Can We All Just Get Along?

    in Relationships

Is God irrelevant to those who are all about science? Is science irrelevant to those who believe in God? Where does religion fit in this equation? Can we as human beings begin to live in a world where science and technology catches up to civilization without feeling that our core beliefs in God aren't in danger?  Can we live in a world where we embrace science, technology and God simultaneously and without conflict? What part does religion play? Is it merely old dogma that is no longer applicable in society or does it have its place? Are churches losing their appeal? Is the fire and brimstone message effective? Has religion gone too far? Are we evolved to a greater mindset where guilt based religion and shame is no longer warranted or necessary? Do you believe in the afterlife? Is the Bible a whole truth or a loosely based truth? What is the purpose of human life?

If you've ever pondered these questions in your mind, don't miss this show. We are touching this taboo subject in a very REAL and authentic way on Wednesday. Join me and my co-host, acclaimed actor Leonard Thomas as we welcome Dr. Elliott Maynard, Ph.D and author of "Brave New Mind: Living in a Future-Science World" David Gaggin, former Nasa and Boeing engineer and author of "The Endless Journey: A Unique Perspective on Mankind's Origin, Purpose and Ultimate Destiny" and Pastor Patrick McGrew of Higher Praise Church located in Fort Worth, Texas. Each will be there to pontificate on the subject and to share their perspective on the issues plaguing us as we move forward into the future and what we need to do in order to survive ourselves and our planet!

This show dares to go where most people don't want to go. If it makes you uncomfortable, that's great. At least you feel something! Tune in for a conscious, relgious and spiritual awakening! Wednesday, March 18th. 12 noon pst., 3 pm est.

    SDG 177 Route 777

    in Spirituality

    Matthew 7:13-14

Highways have been a way of life for man for millennia.  Paul was struck down on the road to Damascus and even today when you visit Rome you can still walk on one of the roads that the apostles walked on. It’s called The Appian Way and was built by the Romans

And that's what we're going to talk about today, one very special road, that I called Route 777.

Now there are all kinds of roads in the world today. Some are very good roads, some are very bad roads and some are even dangerous roads, because some people on our highways that have more horsepower than horse sense. Today that Appian Way built by the Romans and traveled upon by Peter and Paul is still in better condition than some modern roads only built a decade or two ago. And that’s because The Romans laid a deep foundation, now there’s a lesson for us.

Now there are many historic roads in the world today. Where I live near Pittsburgh we have Route 30 also known as The Lincoln Highway built by General Braddock to connect the east coast with Fort Pitt at the point of the Three Rivers in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. And Terri and I love to travel the Route 5 along Lake Erie also known as the Great Lakes Seaway Trial.

And there’s one very short but important road, called The Via Dolarosa, or the way of sorrows that our Lord took as He went from the judgment hall to Cavalry. And that’s what inspired young Lindsay who led us in worship at Sozos last week.  So remember to check out the pictures of us raising our white flags and lifting up the crosses with Lindsay.

But the road we'll look at today is the Holy Highway. The straight and narrow, the old S & N.

And stay tuned as we learn three eternal truths from Jesus contained in these two verses: There is a decision to face, a direction to follow and a destiny to find.
