In 2012 Sports Illustrated declared Ohio as the next BCS busting program. Then it all fell apart. The Bobcats crumbled in the final stretch of 2012, and after a 6-2 start in 2013, the same followed. When the clock hit zero on a 37-20 to ECU, over were the careers of the greatest senior class in Ohio football history. Tyler Tettleton, Beau Blankenship, Donte Foster, Keith Moore, Travis Carrie are just some of the many names gone from the Bobcats as we enter 2014.
11 starters return in all, but only three on the offensive side. Expectations are down. It appears Ohio's in for a bumpy 2014. Or are they? To get a better sense of what Ohio Football has to offer in 2014 I brought on a former colleague, Nick Komjati of the Bobcat Sports Showcase and WOUB in Athens, Ohio to help me preview this team. Nick offers some great insight into the quarterback situation, who will be tabbed with running the ball, the expectations surrounding this defense and what 2014 could hold for Ohio.
I had the pleasure of going on the air in Charlotte this morning on WFNZ immediately after general manager Rich Cho came on the program. An excerpt of Cho's interview was played, and wait until you listen to his nervous laughter before saying he is not "shopping" Michael Kidd-Gilchrist but is listening to offers.
That, folks, is semantics.
"Shopping" is a loaded word. "Listening to offers" is a more soothing statement.
I went on to defend the story we posted yesterday about Kidd-Gilchrist, and how he would become expendable if Otto Porter falls to the Bobcats at No. 4.
And let's not forget that when you are in a position like the one the Bobcats are in, somet

The Red Wings pick up only one point for giving up 8 goals in the last two games against the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Winnipeg Jets. They have to play better than that, of course, especially against the Eastern-Conference-leading Montreal Canadiens.
The Pistons have off until this Friday, which makes a very long NBA All-Star break for them. They welcome the Chicago Bulls into the Palace of Auburn Hills this Friday and then play the Washington Wizards in a matinee game at home Sunday to continue their 5-game homestand. The Pistons particularly need Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to improve by a large margin from his performance in the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge the past Friday.
The Michigan State Spartans rebound nicely by picking up two wins, one of them which came in thrilling fashion at home the past Saturday (yesterday) against the Ohio State Buckeyes, while the Michigan Wolverines continue to struggle mightily and have off until Tuesday. The Central Michiigan Chippewas keep climbing up in the MAC Standings with wins over the Ohio Bobcats and the Buffalo Bulls.
I'll read you fans an article that shows another example of how the Tigers starting pitching rotation is NOT as concerning as some may think. It's about David Price feeling more refreshed.
