Martin Yate CPC - Knock Em Dead 2016
New York Times bestseller Martin Yate is the author of Knock Em Dead – The Ultimate Job Search Guide, now going into its 31st edition. It is the keystone of a 17-book series, with each book addressing a different aspect of job search and modern career management. Collectively published in some 63 foreign language editions, the Knock Em Dead way is unique in its scope and global acceptance in industrialized nations.
With new books and editions added constantly over the last thirty-one years, Mr. Yate’s body of work has gradually evolved into a carefully integrated strategy for navigating the twists and turns of a half-cetury work life. The Knock Em Dead philosophy delivers a practical methodology for achieving professional success, personal fulfillment and financial stability in an uncertain world.
With 17 books and two optical patents to his name and as someone who last danced with a professional ballet company at age 55, he is clearly one of those who has turned ADHD into a superpower. Martin is also a recovering alcoholic of some years standing, and exchanging one obsessive compulsion for another; he particularly enjoys collecting prohibition-era cocktail shakers.
This week on Nick And Erik In the Monin, Nick and Erik will be addressing the question "Do Black Lives Matter In Media", but not alone. Nick and Erik will be joined by Race and Religion Activist Dr. Jon Pahl. Dr. Pahl earned his Ph.D. at The University of Chicago Divinity School, and since then has lectured or spoken at Oxford and Cambridge Universities, Princeton, Yale, Stanford and many other academic venues. He’s been featured in a documentary film, Malls R Us, and has appeared on media outlets such as the BBC and ABC. He's the author, most recently, of the book Empire of Sacrifice: The Religious Origins of American Violence--which includes a chapter on "The Slaveholding Religion--From Jarena Lee to Spike Lee." Jon has written widely on topics of race and religion in America, and and he has been an activist on behalf of racial justice since his youth. In his free time, Jon plays the sax with his jazz quartet and sits in with gospel choirs. He's been married to his wife, Lisa, for 33 years--and they've been blessed to raise three beautiful children together.
Topic this week: Bits & Pieces.

Wednesday is dedicated to survivors to call in and let us all know how they are seeking their support. How are they making the effort to find a support group, volunteer at a non-profit, researching or professional counseling? It is hard work learning how to find your healing and it takes time to learn how to live in your new life. Living in healing is something very new to survivors who have broken their silence and it takes a while to get a rhythm and security in their daily walk.
When God's Hand is upon your life and affairs things begin to happen speedily!
The Hand of God upon the prophet Elijah caused him to outrun horses!
That's Divine Speed! Shout Hallelujah!
1 Kings 18:45-46 (KJV)
45 And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.
46 And the hand of the Lord was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.
Because I have a young son it is MY responsibility to educate him...not just the schools. We focus a lot on the past and people that DID things to move our culture and society forward. How come we never talk about the people that are LIVING Black History on a daily basis? It is of no small coincidence that we are going to watch an emmy award winning violinist this evening...he is Black. Violin isnt exactly synonymous with Black men. We dont speak much about Misty Copeland..the famed ballerina, who was told at a young age that she was too "muscular" to be a ballerina she is also Black. We dont speak about several people I see in society making a change and a difference in the communities thru art, music, dance, literary, journalism or many other areas. I would like to acknowledge them today.
