Tonight we will be talking about Bob Kane's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, he will be getting it on October 21st.
Hollywood’s famous Walk of Fame includes stars devoted to such luminaries as Humphrey Bogart, Jack Nicholson, Audrey Hepburn and Steven Spielberg… and soon, Batman creator Bob Kane.
As revealed this morning by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, Kane will be receiving a posthumous star in the category of Motion Pictures for his creation of Batman—a character who has successfully made the leap from comics to film more times than any other Super Hero.
The ceremony will take place on October 21, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. PST and will feature bothBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice filmmaker Zack Snyder and DC Entertainment Co-Publisher Jim Lee as guest speakers, as well as the Batman v Superman Batmobile. (The Batmobile won’t be guest speaking. Instead, it’ll be parked there looking too awesome for words.)
In the very first live action Batman, Batman and Robin take on a Japanese spy ring! This 1943 version of Batman is a 15 chapter serial released by Columbia Pictures. Lewis Wilson plays the first live action Batman/Bruce Wayne and Douglas Croft plays the first live action Robin/Dick Grayson! Join us as we discuss this bygone era of entertainment!
