    Whirl With Merle

    in Travel

The town of Barto is where Landhaven Bed and Breakfast, is located at 1194 Huffs Church Rd and owned by Donna and Ed Land.

The building was formerly an 1870s general store.  You can see some of the history in “the event room”.  The first floor has the kitchen, dining room, “gathering room” and one bedroom. I was given one that had a roll in shower and shower bench.  This is very unusual for a BandB.  There are 4 rooms on the second floor and the living quarters on the third floor with an extra bedroom and private bath if necessary.

Friday night called for entertainment. It was a country-rock-bluegrass sort of local group called Frog Holler. The room was packed with what appeared to be mostly followers of the band.  We all loved the music.  Some of the women in the audience couldn’t help but get up and dance.  Concerts tend to be on both Friday and Saturday evenings with a BYOB.

The pillows on the bed were like the best ever!  Would have slept longer if it weren’t for a full day of featured fun to look forward to. Breakfast was a deconstructed blintz.  Bake casserole with the cheese filling.  Then you get to scoop on fresh cooked apple pieces, nuts and a vanilla sour cream.  Donna and Ed maintain an extremely friendly atmosphere. www.landhavenbandb.com

We will talk with the owners.

  • Steve Ahnael Nobel: Shifts in Consciousness

    in Spirituality

The former director of Alternatives in London, Steve Ahnael Nobel returns to the show to more deeply explore personal and global shifts in consciousness. Steve is the author of Personal Transitions: Beyond the Comfortable into the Real.

What three pathways lead to transition and awakening? What are some of the signs and symptoms of waking up into a new vibrational level of perception and consciousness? How does the true nature of the soul relate to multidimensionality? What spiritual help is available to us? And what can we expect to see on the other side?

How can we come to understand the interplay of dark and light on the planet? We are experiencing a time of confluence, a time where the old paradigm of control, suppression and manipulation is ending and a new paradigm is slowly forming. These two paradigms are co-existing for a time before they part ways forever.

Steve led Alternatives from 2000-2012, a not-for-profit organization with a profoundly powerful impact. Steve currently coaches and mentors authors, as well as assisting people going through major transitions.  At Alternatives, Steve helped organize over 1300 events in the domains of contemporary spirituality and personal development.

Bunny Sigler - Latest Release "Bundino"

    in Music

Around 1970, Gamble Huff Productions became Philadelphia International Records. When Eugene Dozier left the label, Sigler inherited his office. Sigler's songwriting break came when a tune he co-wrote with Phil Hurtt, "(You Are My) Sunshine", was released as a followup single to the O'Jays' million selling 'Back Stabbers'. Other Sigler/Hurtt tunes included on the 'Back Stabbers' album were "When The World Is At Peace" and "Who Am I". The O'Jays' followup album, 'Ship Ahoy', had Sigler's first solo written song, "You Got Your Hooks In Me", and the Sigler/Gamble tune "Don't You Call Me Brother".

In 1978, Sigler, bringing along Instant Funk, switched to Goldmind, a label started by MFSB guitarist Norman Harris and distributed by Salsoul Records. With his first release for the label, Sigler scored a Top Ten R&B single with "Let Me Party With You (Party, Party, Party)". The album of the same name was a smash in disco clubs. When Goldmind folded, all of its acts were transferred to Salsoul. About a year after its release and thanks to a Larry Levan remix, "I Got My Mind Made Up (You Can Get It Girl)", went on to be Instant Funk's breakthrough hit (number one R&B). Both that single and the 'Instant Funk' album went gold.

He is a four-time Grammy award winner and we are honored to have him back with us to talk about his latest release "Bundino" and his future projects.

Join host Tania-Maria and co-host Clay Corley, the creator/host of Spotlight on Jazz and Poetry and a Philly native. Clay has been a long time member and supporter of ColoredPeople.net
