Let's Talk Too! Author Daniel N. Collins

    in Books

    I'm your host

    Author Sharnel

    Daniel N. Collins,

He was born on September 4th 1975 in Newark NJ, but he was raised in Elizabeth NJ. Elizabeth is where he first put the pen to the paper in the 11th grade. Daniel has moved on since then and published his first poem in 2002 in a book called "Flood of Contentment", and with this he received the editors choice award for his poem called "moving on".
Today Daniel N Collins has published two books of his own called "The soul Vs Flesh" / Life 2 Lyrics, which even has a sequel called "The Soul Vs Flesh" / Lyrics 4 Life. The Soul Vs Flesh is a series and a collection of events that has happened in Daniels life put together in a lyrical display. What Daniel did was give his flesh its own voice and his soul it's own voice and let them talk amongst each other round after round as he sits in the middle and tries not to add a bias opinion. The Soul Vs Flesh is basically Daniels own spiritual warfare put into lyrical form. What's intriguing about Daniels first book is that it was written on a blackberry tour in a span of eight months. Daniel fervently writes about life as he sees it so he needs an electrical device within an arms reach at all times. Daniel is an exemplary writer but is also inspired by other writers as well such as Langston Hughes, Tupac Shakoor,  D H Lawrence,  Dr Cornel West, and Lil Wayne. Daniel is a true renaissance man, he enjoys Jazz, Hip Hop,and  R&B.
Daniel enjoys reading or siting in silence listing to his heart as he plagiarizes what his mind tells him to write.  Over all Daniel is an outside of the box kind of guy and the best quote to describe him is one by Brian Tracey and says "Nothing great has ever been achieved except by those who dared believe that something inside them was superior to circumstances".

The Revenue U Co-Founder John Beresford

    in Entrepreneur

After a brief start in the pharmaceutical industry, John Beresford transitioned to the Tech Space when he was recruited to a small Waterloo company in the early 2000s called Research in Motion, which would later go on to become Blackberry.  Leading North American sales and marketing teams at BlackBerry gave John had a front row seat to the birth of the smartphone revolution.

While completing an MBA at Wilfrid Laurier University John met the co-founders who would eventually form a company called Eventpeeks which has evolved into Canada’s preeminent social media broadcasting company, focusing on live experiences and social analytics.

Like Eventpeeks, John’s passion for entrepreneurship was forged in the Wilfrid Laurier University Launchpad, a program which prides itself in applying academic rigor to the lean startup method popularized by startup gurus like Steve Blank.  The Laurier LaunchPad program also serves as an incubator for startups providing mentors, office space and community connections to innovative and ambitious founders.  Following graduation John stuck around to help manage the LaunchPad program and teach entrepreneurship courses at Wilfrid Laurier University.  It was his experience at the Laurier LaunchPad that helped inspire the work being done at The Revenue U.

Thus began the creation of a series of educational programs dedicated to helping early stage founders and mid market sales professionals learn the art and science of sales. Working with the Waterloo based institution Communitech over a 12 month period The Revenue U team were able to work with over one hundred of startup companies, building and perfecting the the revenue focused education they required to become profitable.  The Revenue U courses are now a staple at some of Canada’s top startup support organizations: Communitech, Ryerson DMZ and the Ontario Centres of Excellence.

EP73 - Christian aka "Christo" and Stephen Co-Host

    in Hobbies

This week Stephen and Christian Co-Host very funny show!! Find out why there is a Batman photo in the slideshow.....

    Who is Rabbit Ranger

They are people who have come together because of a mutual love of hunting and being in the outdoors. Rabbit Ranger was the creation of Christian aka "Christo", who realised one day that he just wasn't happy with his job and the way he was heading, like a mouse in a wheel, going round and round and round, he felt that work was taking up 40-50 hours a week, reducing the time he had with his family and overall, making him a sad and grumpy bloke. So what happened?

Although he won't say he had an epiphany, he kind of did one day when he was out rabbit hunting, sat in camo, amongst the gorse and blackberry, it suddenly dawned on him that he was happy, that rabbits were delicious (see the recipes at the bottom of the page) and people were missing out on eating a resource that in turn was damaging the outdoors he loved. People used to eat them on a regular basis, what happened and how do we change that? With all the damage they do, eating them could only be a good thing!
