Rape culture is a concept in which rape is pervasive and normalized due to societal attitudes about gender and sexuality. Behaviors commonly associated with rape culture include victim blaming, sexual objectification, trivializing rape, denial of widespread rape, refusing to acknowledge the harm of some forms of sexual violence, or some combination of these. There is evidence to suggest that rape culture is correlated with other social factors and behaviors. Rape myths, victim blaming, and trivialization of rape have been found to be positively correlated with racism, sexism, homophobia, ageism, classism, religious intolerance and other forms of discrimination.
The most recent case with Bill Cosby has sparked the need to have this discussion. Both men and women, can be raped. Both men AND women can be blamed for rape. I want to have an open, adult discussion about it.

"Blacks are dehumanized to such an extent that they aren't perceived as humans.Along with racial profiling and illegal harassment , like stop-and-frisk, being pushed through a window by police has apparently become a new reality for brown-skinned people. Yet how is such aggression and violence justified by law enforcement, and are these incidents to be imagined as mere coincidence - or explained as reflective of black pathology rather than police pathology?
