Well, while you hunker down for what we're told is going to be a helluva of winter storm, why not listen to a new episode of Afronerd Radio's Grindhouse, airing this Saturday at 6pm EST. Due to what turned out to be one of our best comic con experiences, the crew (Dburt, Capt. Kirk and Dburt) decided to take a shot at recreating the Blerds and Bleeks Speak segment of the 4th Annual Black Comic Book Festival held at the Schomburg Center (Harlem, NY) during MLK Day! So hold on to your hats, when we welcome Ashlee Blackwell (Grvyrd Shift Sisters), Karama Horne (The Blerd Gurl), Maurice Waters (Black Sci-Fi) and Joseph Illidge (Verge Entertainment, The Mission) for a gabfest with topics ranging from comic cons (minority themed and otherwise), the promotion/business of Blerd culture and expectations for geekery circa 2016. And if that wasn't enough, Messrs. Marcus Williams and Greg Burnham, the creative team behind The Tuskegee Heirs, stop by to discuss this great graphic novel project and the (ongoing) successful Kickstarter campaign that is making this comic series a reality. Call in live at 646-915-9620.

Abibifahodie (Black Liberation),
The response from our interview with Brother EJ Jones has been so overwhelming that we figured we'd bring him back to discuss the SuperBowl, sports, and the role/responsibility that Black athletes should have to the larger Black community.
Sankofa means that you look to the past to get what was useful there, and use it to move forward intelligently. February is known in America as Black History Month, but what about our Black future?? We need to know what we want to happen in our future. We need to know about the innovators right now who are creating and producing our future. Should we be following other cultures' ideas about what the future should bring? NO!!! Our future is what we make it...so let's talk about some recipes...

Some say, "what you don't know, can't hurt you." Do you know your rights? What should you do if you are ever stopped or approached by a law enforcement officer? Racial tension is growing in America largely because of the media coverage of black males being killed by white police officers. However, there is more to the story than us outsiders actually know...until now!
Join host Tammy Gaitor and co-host Rodney Jordan as the Butterfly Evolution show welcomes Retired Police Chief Robert Moore for a "not to be missed" episode Monday, February 8, 2016. From the cotton fields of Mississippi to a presidential appointment by former United States president, Bill Clinton, Chief Moore served as the U.S. Marshal for the central district of Illinois. "We know that there are bad cops patrolling your neighborhoods. We want them off of your streets just as bad as you do but you all are not helping us," he recently told a crowd of anxious young people at Howard University in Washington, D.C.
