Reelblack, the film production and promotions company based in Philadelphia, has begun a crowd-funding campaign in support of BLACK FILM NOW, the first feature-length documentary on African-American film in a decade. The company hopes to raise $25,000 at www.indiegogo.com/blackfilmnow before March 10 to cover editing and additional production.

The veteran educator co-founded and hosted the first annual Fisk Film Festivals and conducted a community forum on race and race relations, "Lift Every Voice" for middle Tennessee.
Jewel Tankard, Multi-Millionairess, Network Marketing Extraordinaire, is the wife of Gospel Jazz Musician Ben Tankard. Together, they pastor The Destiny Center, a growing, multi-cultural non-denominational Bible-believing Word-based church located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The duo, also with their family, star in “Thicker Than Water: The Tankards”, a positive family reality show on the Bravo network.

Forty-five minutes west of Walt Disney's make-believe history, archaeologists dig for real artifacts. Hunched over a shallow, square excavation, they search for Peliklakaha, the largest Black Seminole village, Fort Mose known to historians, a place where different cultures joined in a fight for freedom more than 200 years ago. Until now, say University of Florida archaeologists, Peliklakaha existed only in the writings of military leaders and a painting commissioned by the U.S. general who had burned it down.
