On this day, Phoenix (the Public Relations Officer) joins our show to speak about the role that BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse) has with the awareness against child abuse and the activities they do to help towards "Breaking the Chains of Abuse". When you think that folks should be more involved, BACA has a reputation of doing just that.
We will have the chat room and phone lines open, in case you would like to ask any questions after he shares more information about why he's involved and about the program process.
See their website (for Texas) - http://bacaworld.org/mission//. They are a program that spreads across all the States.
Beyond Words Live! is designed to be a platform for survivors to tell their own story in their own words. Tonight's special guest is Stefan Verstappen from Toronto, a writer and martial arts teacher with over 35 years experience. He developed The Little Warrior program featuring The Little Warriors Street Safety Books over a ten-year period of teaching young children safety and self-defense. He is also the author of The Art of Urban Survival, and has done dozens of radio interviews on the subject of his booklet and video on the subject of "Defense Against the Psychopath." Stephan asks, "Since it is impossible for you or someone you can trust to watch over your children at all times what can we do to make sure our children survive such an encounter?" And he answers his own question, "One solution to preventing children from becoming victims is to train them to be able to prevent being targeted." Children do not have to understand all the reasons why something is wrong, they just need to know when something is wrong and what to do. Role playing games teach by doing, rather than lecturing. By physically re-enacting a skill through games and exercises, children create new nerve pathways in the brain that will enable them to use that skill instinctively later if they need to. These good instincts will serve to protect kids their whole lives. The Little Warriors is a unique street-proofing and safety program that teaches kids how to be safe, how to protect themselves from danger, and what to do in an emergency.

Ryan Miner, host of A Miner Detail, will investigate the more than 20 reported incidents of child sex abuse or exploitation in the Montgomery County Public Schools since 2011.
Ryan will host several guests on the show to discuss how sexual predators were allowed in the Montgomery County Public Schools and how the background check process failed to protect children from predators in the school system. Ryan has invited parents, teachers and community leaders to offer policy alternatives to fix the system in place.
This show will focus on how to prevent future incidents from happening in the future and how to work with local school officials, and law enforcement to protect children in Montgomery County Public Schools.
From the WUSA9 Report:
"John Epps Junior was a contract employee for MCPS who did work in 58 schools. Ironically, the security camera technician was caught on surveillance video grabbing the behind of a 12 year-old Baker Middle School student. He's alleged to have done the same to a Damascus High School student. Court documents show Epps had a criminal history of groping women in public, of which the school system was unaware. He will go to trial in March for those school groping incidents."
Please call in to the show to join the conversation. Join Ryan Miner, host of A Miner Detail as brought to you by Change Montgomery County, on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 9:00 p.m.
*Editor's note: We will approach this conversation with an extra degree of delicacy and sensitivity considering the content and materials.
Spring Training is underway in Arizona and Florida, and Major League Baseball is already making Outsports headlines. First, a Christian former talk show host claimed he was able to turn a gay man straight with kindness and Chicago Cubs tickets. Then, New York Met Daniel Murphy said that homosexuality is a sin and he's against the lifestyle of openly gay former MLB Player Billy Bean "100%." This was in conjunction with Bean practicing with the team as a gesture of inclusion.
Is this the new direction we're headed with baseball and other pro sports, where Christians become more emboldened to speak out against gay people? Or are these the last gasps of homophobia as we seek to make sports more welcoming for all?

Fire is the element of transformation, creativity, and destruction. It fuels our passion, warms our bodies, and cooks our food. In order to maintain balance it can also destroy everything in it's path. The destruction allows new life to begin and start fresh.
Our experiences shape who we are and how we live our lives....good or bad. Unfortunately, bad memories, bad food, or bad habits can create imbalances in our minds, bodies, and spirits.
Integrative therapies are excellent tools to help restore balance in our lives. Ignite your life by drawing upon the fire in your belly to create the life you have always wanted by finally freeing yourself from the things that no longer serve you.....like a Phoenix rising from the ashes.
