On a bike, sitting still, barely pedaling or pedaling like crazy aren't very helpful in getting you to your destination. You may arrive, but you might be late or you might be exhausted.
Instead, consistent pedaling at a moderate pace is the best way to reach your destination, especially if the journey is long.
The same idea is true when talking about productivity and organizing-doing little things on a regular basis will help you maintain an organized space or consistently be productive.
In this episode, Productivity Coach and Master Organizer, Janice Russell, will give you some guidelines for bicycling your way to a more organized space at your work or in your home. She will also address how increase and maintain more productive habits.
So if you're looking for more balance in your life (and not just on a bicycle), listen to this episode and act on something you hear in it today!
If you want additional ideas, you can find out how Janice's proprietary Flexible Structure Method (FSM) of productivity and organizing can help your desire for a better life. Check out the FSM website.

Climate Action With Russell Greene
Understanding the Fifth UN IPCC Predicament and Response
The Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was finalized in 2014.
Join me with my guest Atmospheric Scientist Peter Kalmus this Sunday to discuss what the report tells us and how we each may choose to respond.
Peter Kalmus is an atmospheric scientist studying the role of clouds in global warming. After graduating from Harvard with a physics degree, he worked for four years as a computer programmer on Wall Street before returning to science and earning his PhD in physics from Columbia University. After five years as an astrophysicist at Caltech, he switched fields into atmospheric science.
Being the father of two young boys motivates him to explore how we can appropriately respond -- as individuals -- to the massive problem of global warming. One of the many things he's done is to almost completely stop burning fossil fuels himself, by examining his own life and replacing fossil-fueled activities with bicycling, driving on veggie oil, remote participation in meetings, and a fossil-fuel-free diet. He calls this ongoing process of self-examination and self-change "be-cycling," and he says it makes him happier.
Over the Top Radio is starting a new show centered around women's cycling which will be co-hosted with Robin Farina. In this, our introductory program, we'll discuss future guests, the 2014 cycling season, 2015 cycling season and pertinent issues facing women in cycling.
Robin Farina : Robin began her cycling career over 13 years ago after graduating from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Sports Management. She has raced on several professional teams throughout her career and is the former 2011 National Road Race Champion and a 2012 Olympic long team member.
When not on the bike, her time is spent overseeing the newly formed Women’s Cycling Association (WCA) grow and become a global movement for women’s equality in sport and life. After several years of racing at the highest level, Robin saw the need to help Women’s Professional Cycling become a stable platform for future cyclists. The main goal is help achieve equity and help people see the health benefits through riding bikes. Robin’s main objective is to help grow cycling at the grassroots level. “The sport of cycling will gain more fans and more exposure which will in turn give more women the opportunity to race.” Her passion for sport and the sport of cycling drives her to stay dedicated and lead the charge for a positive change. Through the WCA, she dedicates her efforts to helping various philanthropic organizations such as World Bicycle Relief and the American Diabetes Association – Tour de Cure series. She also sits on the Board of Directors for the US Bicycling Hall of Fame.
RESCHEDULED because of technical difficulties: Join me on Monday, September 22nd at 6 p.m. Pacific/9 Eastern on Radio Enso when I welcome writer, philosopher, and professional adventurer André Solo, the Rogue Priest, who returns to the show for what promises to be another great conversation! We’ll discuss his upcoming Fellowship of the Wheel bicycle trip across Mexico and much more!
About André: “I want to do extraordinary things, and help others do them. I want to feel what the epic heroes felt even when they were scared.” I’m André, your rogue priest. I’m a writer, a philosopher, and a professional adventurer. For me, adventure is a life practice, a tool for challenging yourself beyond your limit. To adventure is not just to discover who you are, but to re-create what you find.
I’m a polytheist priest. That means I recognize many faces of the divine, and I admit I do not know what the divine is. In fact, I’m on a rather long quest to find out if it exists at all. I do know that there is a powerful, beautiful force that moves many people through their spirituality. But I don’t know what that force is. Instead of putting my faith in it, I prefer to travel, learn and ask questions. And I like to think that we all have the power to improve our own lives, starting with ourselves, no matter what we believe.
About Fellowship of the Wheel: I’m bicycling across Mexico starting November 8 and I’d like you to come too. No cycling experience is necessary. I’ve divided the ride into 10 segments, some as short as 3 days and some as long as 7. My hope is that as many people as possible will try biking with me, and get a taste of adventure for themselves.
Bob Mionske joins us tonight to discuss current issues facing cyclists and will field your questions. He is a nationally-known cycling lawyer and advocate for the rights of cyclists. A former U.S. Olympic and pro cyclist, Bob amassed a record of over 100 wins during his racing career. Bob represented the United States in the 1988 games in Seoul, South Korea, where he made the winning break in the men’s Individual Road Race, finishing in fourth place. In 1990, Bob was the U.S. National Champion in the Men’s road race. Bob again made the United States Olympic team for the 1992 games in Barcelona, Spain, assisting teammate Lance Armstrong to a fourteenth-place finish. Bob turned pro after the 1992 games, racing for Team Saturn for one season, and then retired to become director of the team for 1993.
At the end of that season, Bob left pro cycling behind and headed off to law school. After passing the bar exam, Bob set up the first bicycle law practice in the nation representating professional racers and defending the legal rights of weekend warriors, commuters, and messengers. Bob also began writing his internationally accaimed bicycle law column, Legally Speaking, featured on VeloNews.com. Bob's perspective on bicycle law and the rights of cyclists has also been featured in national magazines, including Esquire, Bicycling, and Outside.
You are welcome to join the conversation.
