On my recent vacation to the Caribbean - Cozumel, Belize and Rotane Hondarus.
I found this to be very magical and shifted me in many ways. In Belize I found that the plants in this beautiful place- most of the plants can be made into medicines that are used to help heal a variety of ailments. ( I will only talk about 2 on my show, so many plants used for medicinal purposes are so very helpful and healing. (1 - Snake Plant- this plant is used for snake bite- the Belizeans are taught to identify the species of snake life on the island- types of coral snakes and many venomous snakes. This aids in the slowing of the venom, until a hospital can be reached. 2) Gravola tree - (Sour Sap). Soursap is the fruit of Annona muricata, a broadleaf, flowering, evergreen tree native to Mexico, Cuba, Central America, the Carribean islands of Hispaniola and Puerto Rico are only some of where this is found. this can save lives, fill up hopes and build confidence.
Have you ever gazed into the starry night or into space on a clear night: awestruck by the absolute stillness and inconceivable vastness of it.
Have listened, truly listened to the sound of a mountain stream in the forest, or to the sound from birds.
To become more aware of these things, the mind needs to be still. You may at times have to put your foot down for a moment your personal baggage of problems, of past and future, as well as all your knowledge; otherwise, you will see but not se, hear but not hear. Your total presence is needed.
Would it be there without your presence? Go deeply into it. Find out for yourself.

Study: BFFs May Have Similar DNA Belinda Luscombe @luscombeland July 15, 2014
Really close friends might be as genetically similar as fourth cousins
Next time someone says “You would really like my friend, she’s just like you,” try to refrain from giving her the side eye. It turns out she might have some science to back her up. According to a new study from Yale University and the University of California at San Diego, good friends are often genetically similar, and can share as much as 1% of the same gene variants. In genetic terms, that’s a lot. As close as, say, fourth cousins.
“This gives us a deeper accounting of the origins of friendship,” says Nicholas Christakis, professor of sociology, evolutionary biology, and medicine at Yale, who co-authored the study with James Fowler, professor of medical genetics and political science at UC San Diego. “Not only do we form ties with people superficially like ourselves, we form ties with people who are like us on a deep genetic level. They’re like our kin, though they’re not.”
The study found that, oddly, close friends are often genetically similar in their sense of smell. But it also concluded that friendship may play a role in evolution. The genes that were shared by friends saw the most “evolutionary activity”, or have evolved the fastest over the past 30,000 years. Whether the friendship or the genetic similarity came first is up for debate. Do we seek out genetically similar friends or do our friendships and mating affect what genes get passed on
“Human beings are one of the few species who form long-term, non-reproductive relationships with other members of our species,” says Fowler.

The Arizona Cardinals got what they needed on Sunday Night Football. They got a signature win against the two-time defending NFC champs in Seattle, defeating them 39-32 on Sunday Night Football. The win gives the Cardinals a three-game lead in the division with seven games to go and drops the Seahawks to 4-5, which puts them along with five other teams with the same record, two games back of the final wold card spot.
In the newest All-Cardinals show, hosts Jess Root and Seth Cox talk about the significance of the win and what it means to the team. Jess speaks of how this win was the result of other games and what they learned, and they both talk about minimum expectations for the rest of the season and what their ceiling could be.
They go over the good and the not so good in the win as well, talking about the play of Carson Palmer, Michael Floyd and others.
GIve the show a listen and head over to Revenge of the Birds for more great Cardinals content.
He's the perfect guest to explain what the heck is going on with the Birds. You know him from WIP, Comcast Sportsnet and his book "The New Eagles Encyclopedia," and now Hall of Famer Ray Didinger returns to the Philly Pressbox Radio Roundtable. Ray joins Jim "Chet" Chesko and Bill Furman to give his take on Chip Kelly's underachieving, mistake-prone Eagles, the quarterback situation and the subpar performance of the wide receivers. We'll also ask Ray why the Birds can't seem to play a complete game and whether there's still hope for turning things around. Plus, there's our Philly sports trivia question and prize giveaway courtesy Carl's Cards & Collectibles, Inc. It's all brought to you by shopforkisses.org, the online shopping network of the Kisses for Kyle Foundation.
