This month Franchise Interviews is celebrating Great Women Leaders in franchising. Today's interview is with Melanie Bergeron. Melanie officially joined the family business in 1989 when she was awarded the first TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® franchise in Atlanta, Ga. Bergeron also maintained a career in pharmaceutical sales while operating the franchise because all profits from the franchise were being reinvested into the family business. At the request of her mother, Founder Mary Ellen Sheets, Bergeron came to work at the home office in Lansing, MI in the 1990s. In 1994, Bergeron was named president of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®. In 2002, she became chief operating officer and in January 2007, she took over as CEO. She became chair of the board in 2009.

Ring Announcer Lisa King is our guest this week on the FNU Combat Sports Show. According to Wikipedia: Lisa Olivia King aka "The Black Widow"(born January 14th in Las Vegas, Nevada) is a Muay Thai Fighter with a record of 7-1-1. She is instrumental in bringing attention to women's martial arts and muay thai fighting. In addition to fighting she is an Muay Thai instructor, fight match maker, commentator and ring announcer. Through her extensive involvement in martial arts and Muay Thai kickboxing, she has been featured in ESPN's "I'd do Anything", the film "Ring Girls", the Oxygen Network's 2006 movie "Fight Girls" and her four-volume Muay Thai Instructional DVD Series "Vicious Vixens" produced by Century Martial Arts. Due to the success of the first movie she was asked back to star in Oxygen's 8-week reality show "Fight Girls" as a mentor and trainer to 10 aspiring female fighters. King will discuss the highlights of her career and give us a preview of some upcoming events she will be participating in. Tonight's show features 7-1 Joby Sanchez and 12-0 Henry Corrales, two promising professional MMA fighters. Sanchez will soon be making his third appearance in the UFC Octagon since taking a fight with Wilson Resi on short notice at UFC Fight Night: Henderson vs. Dos Anjos in August of 2014. His debut in the organization ended with a unanimous decision loss, but he bounced back with a split-decision win over Tateki Matsuda at UFC Fight Night: McGregor vs. Siver in Boston this past January. Corrales makes his debut in Bellator this Friday night against Daniel Straus (22-6) as part of a card headlined by Kimbo Slice vs. Ken Shamrock. Corrales is looking for his fifth straight stoppage, and only two of his wins have been by decision. He takes on a fighter with more than twice the amount of professional experience and embraces a huge opportunity in stepping up from KOTC. Tom, Tony and Rich will also do our best to fill the remaining time with combat sports news, event results and schedules.
