    ANYTHING GOES Debbie Druzy

    in Pop Culture

Bennet Pomerantz talks to media guests on the Betty Award winning ANYTHING GOES. His guest tonight is author Debra Druzy

a mom  who writes sweet ’n spicy contemporary romantic fiction in between running errands and doing household chores. With her terrible penmanship, writing a novel was never Debra’s lifelong dream. However, as a little girl she loved playing with her mother’s old typewriter, and she did pretty good in typing class in high school. When she grew up, she got a job in NYC where she did a lot of typing and spent a lot of hours commuting via the Long Island Railroad. To pass the time, she read a lot of books. All sorts of books. Syfy. Horror. Women’s Fiction.

She quickly realized Romance was her favorite—the steamier the better. All that reading gave her the big idea to write her own story, putting her overactive imagination and suspicious mind to work, playing out the possibilities of what-ifs.

So… she came home from work one day, sat in front a blank document on her computer, and attempted her first novel. It was awful but that didn’t stop her. In 2011, she joined the RWA and LIRW, where she met like-minded writers at all levels of experience. At the LIRW Annual Luncheon in May 2014, Debra pitched SLEEPING WITH SANTA to the Editor-in-Chief of The Wild Rose Press, and a few months later was offered a contract; the book released in time for Christmas 2014.

Her second story, DARE ME, a Valentine’s day novella, will be out February 1, 2016, and is available now for pre-order on Amazon and other online bookstores.

Please visit http://debradruzy.com/ to find out more about Debra and her books, sign up for her newsletter, and connect with her on social media.

Lets Talk with Rachel & Bennet, Guests Jen Winter & Veronica del Rosa

    in Pop Culture

Huffington Post columnist Rachel Thompson and Critic/writer/columnist for Night Owl Magazine and Affaire De Couer Bennet Pomerantz discuss media topics with guests.

Tonight we have an author two-fer authors Jen Winter & Veronica Del Rosa

Veronica Del Rosa enjoys fantasy, Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance and Horror. After much research (that's what she calls her voracious need to read) and many attempts at writing, she finally had a story that spoke to her. A paranormal romance series where each set of characters have their own HEA with no cliffhangers.. Writing as been the most challenging and the most rewarding.

Jen Winters is a stay-at-home mom, homeschooling two great kids. She spends her days with the kids and her nights with her book boyfriends. She is grateful to her hubby for all his support and love, and can't imagine this life without him.

The top-selling world of the Guardians was developed through deeply irreligious conversations with her father who likes to misinterpret scripture as often as humanly possible and a good dose of did-I-just-read-that-! when looking into ancient near eastern mythology and scripture.
