    The Power of Prayer

    in Christianity

There are many who, though striving to obey God’s commandments, have little peace or joy. This lack in their experience is the result of a failure to exercise faith. They walk as it were in a salt land, a parched wilderness. They claim little, when they might claim much; for there is no limit to the promises of God. Such ones do not correctly represent the sanctification that comes through obedience to the truth. The Lord would have all His sons and daughters happy, peaceful, and obedient. Through the exercise of faith the believer comes into possession of these blessings. Through faith, every deficiency of character may be supplied, every defilement cleansed, every fault corrected, every excellence developed. Pr 52.1Prayer is heaven’s ordained means of success in the conflict with sin and the development of Christian character. The divine influences that come in answer to the prayer of faith will accomplish in the soul of the suppliant all for which he pleads. For the pardon of sin, for the Holy Spirit, for a Christlike temper, for wisdom and strength to do His work, for any gift He has promised, we may ask; and the promise is, “Ye shall receive.”

    Philippians 2:3-5

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus,

  • How To Develop A "Christlike" Character!

    in Youth

    October 9th. 2015

This week we will learn about the foundation necessary to undergo the process of change and the power God gives us to reflect His character.

All people who accept God's offer of salvation exchange their pride for humility, their hatred for love, their selfishness for generosity, their temper for sweetness, their anxity for peace. This is what is called the process of exchange, Many have begun this process, but have found themselves stalled somewhere along the way.

Today we will learn how with God's help, we can develop a character like His.

Topic:         How To Develop A "Christlike" Character!

Very thankful tonight to have Bobby McCreery on the show with me to talk about Christian Celebrities & Loving the Brethren. How do we view high profile Christians? Street Preachers? Radio Talk Show Hosts? Well known ministries or ministers? Do we sometimes elevate them to celebrity status? What if you have been elevated by others to the status of a Christian celebrity, how should you handle that or address those who put you there? Then we will transition to Loving the Brethren, why is this so important? Especially over social media and the way we deal with one another on facebook or twitter? How should we conduct ourselves with the brethren when interacting on these social networking sites? So stick around as I talk with Bobby about these topics and our prayer is to by encouraging, edifying and to equipped the body of believers, that we might grow to be more Christlike.

The Lord will work through every soul that will give himself up to be worked, not only to preach but to minister to the despairing and to inspire hope in the hearts of the hopeless. We are to act our part in relieving and softening the miseries of this life. The miseries and mysteries of this life are as dark and cloudy as they were thousands of years ago. There is something for us to do: “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.” There are needy close by us; the suffering are in our very borders. We must try to help them. By the grace of Christ, the sealed fountains of earnest, Christlike work are to be unsealed. In the strength of Him who has all strength we are to work as we have never worked before.—Manuscript 65b, 1898.
