    in Motivation

Wearing your natural hair is wearing your pride on your shoulders! It's about owning it boldly. But how do you make it through the transition with minimal damage? Well, on today's show our guest Christine Henderson is going to share with us just how to do that!

Christine Henderson, Owner of Natural Hairess & Co., is an exclusive natural hair care company designed to empower clients to embrace wearing their natural hair whether they're in transition from chemical processed hair, suffered thinning or damaged hair due to protective styling to fully embracing their beauty and natural tresses.

After Grad School, Christine developed a brand of niche services and worked with an expert advisor to develop products that have long nurtured her daughters natural hair. Both of her girls are lifetime naturals. Christine has gone on to expand services and products to the public. Christine has focused her natural hair care on targeted services that combine both industry and health knowledge to produce a hair care maintenance collection that ensures our clients look as good at home as they do in her natural hair care studio.

NH&Co. provides natural hair care services using natural ingredients to achieve shiny, healthy and strong hair. This company actively strives to educate, encourage, and help naturals everywhere to embrace their virgin hair and their unique beauty through her local co-organized meetup group. What it takes to make Step parenting work?

    in Romance

Tonight we are talking to Tola Onibanjo about Step-parenting and how she managed to successfully parent her children.  If you are dating and you or your partner have children this show will help you.

Tola Onigbanjo popularly known as ‘WiseTola’ is who one would call a woman of many hats. A mother of 5 & a grandmother, an author, radio presenter, host and also the founder of Women4Africa an organisation which seeks to ‘celebrate the ordinary woman doing extraordinary things’ which has also been dubbed as the largest gathering of African women in Europe. Despite her wearing many hats, she still finds time to put family first. Her passion for parenting is what led to her writing her very first ever book which is titled ‘STEPS – It’s Time To Quit Step-Parenting And Become A Parent’. The book as the title suggests is about step-parenting and deals with real life as Tola speaks from her own experiences and how she handled issues that are most likely to arise in such family relationships.

  • Talk Back Tuesday: Grieving from a Man's Point of View

    in Self Help

In the month of May we have concentrated on the theme grieving. We have focused on grieving from a mother’s perspective and family dynamics. This week however, on Talk back Tuesday we will be focusing on grieving from a male and father’s standpoint.

Most male are condition to be the “macho” type. Meaning they are raised and taught not to associate typical grief symptoms such as sadness, crying, depressed mood, and a sense of hopelessness. These characteristic are usually used to define female emotion during the grieving process.

Males tend to bottle up their emotions trying to be strong for their family.

Studies shows that after a loss men experience greater changes in mood than women and experience more consequences on their physical health.

Tune in to Talk Back Tuesday as we continue grieving from a man’s point of view.
