WORLD WIDE AFRICA THE VOICE OF THE PAN AFRICAN MOVEMENT

    in Politics

TODAY our show will be about the details of the Feb. 13, 1965 speech:

THE AMERICAN SLAVE CODE in THEORY AND PRACTICE: its distinctive features shown by its statues, judicial decisions, and illustrative facts.WILLIAM GOODELL

2.)   Free peopled of color may be and continually are brought into Slavery, in this country, in a variety of ways. Some of these ways have been already specified, incidentally, while treating of other topics. Some will be specified hereafter. And they will be clustered together and averted again, in a chapter on "The Liberties of the Free People of Color."  In the mean time, the topic demands attention here, in our inquiry concerning the subjects of slavery, and we shall cite some particulars which need not be repeated again. The general fact of the enslavement of the free colors people, of the facility with which it is done, and the indifference, not to say the connivance, of the Southern Courts, will appear from the following: Davis vs. Sanford, Spring Term 1815; 6 Littell's Ky. Rep., 206.

FREE SOCIAL WORSHIP AND RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION PROHIBITED:  The Government not only permits the Master to forbid the free Social Worship and religious Instruction of his Slave, at his pleasure, but it also steps in with direct prohibitions of its own, which even the Master himself may relax or abrogate.

"But despite the fact that I saw that Islam was a religion of brotherhood, I also had to face reality. And when I got back into this American society, I'm not in a society that practices brotherhood. I'm in a society that might preach it on Sunday, but they don't practice it on no day--on any day. And so, since I could see that America itself is a society where there is no brotherhood and that this society is controlled primarily by racists and segregationists--and it is--who are in Washington, D.C., in positions of power." Breaking the Chains.....Releasing Old Patterns for Growth

    in Motivation

    I have a dream...Celebrating Our Jubilee!

Our forefathers and mothers planted trees from which we gather fruit, and dug wells from which we quench our thirst. Civil Rights Activist marched for us, died for us and pleaded for our equality.

So what are we leaving behind for our communities today? What are we fostering in the minds of our Black children? How will we strengthen our families and our communities? How will we show the power of LOVE in the world? How are we Leading Change?

Fifty years ago, Dr. King's "I Have a Dream..." Speech debuted in Detroit and transformed a nation. Today, we Celebrate our Jubilee and join in that movement of teaching us all to evolve in our beliefs, values and purpose for the elevation of our consciousness into the greatness that lies in the Human Spirit.

Today, we must look deeply at our patterns of behavior if we expect to see changes in our communities, our schools, our children and most importantly, in ourselves. Living is a major City that is creating a major divide in the standards of living, access to jobs, and so much more, it is imperative that we look to our history for guidance, and access our we are carrying that vision forward. We must look for innovative ways to offset what's being set up for our children.

And how do we do that? We look at our patterns of behavior in how we are operating, thinking, spending, learning, and sharing so that we can release old patterns that no longer work, and innovate new ways of achieving growth for our communities.

Tune in to today's show to learn how to changing old patterns will release new creative powers at our disposal that may have been lying dormant due to blockages of past experiences.

We are powerful, and together we rise!

Activism - You CAN Make a Difference - Joyce E. Barrie

    in Lifestyle

Did you know that most activism is brought about by ordinary people?  Rosa Parks, at the forefront of the Civil Rights Movement, was an ordinary person. Edmund Burke said it best - "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing".  I would include good women as well.  Burke also said that "no one could make a greater mistake than he (I add she) could make a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little."

Now, more than ever, the world needs good people to rise together to protest the injustices of gender discrimination, racial discrimination, discrimination against gays and lesbians, and other forms of discrimination.

If you have something you believe in strongly, if you have some cause that you want to support, become an activist and lend your voice to changing the world, one person and one positive action at a time.
