SORT BY Relevancy
This week, a federal judge overturned Washington DC's 2009 gun ban saying it was unconstitutional. DC has some of the strictest (and most confusing) gun laws, but they're not without challenge. John Lott, president of Crime Prevention Research Center joins Joe to discuss the implications of this new ruling that wipes out the DC gun ban. Will we start seeing regular citizens in DC with guns holstered? Tune in!
Have you had your healthy dose of reality lately?
There are always at least two sides to every story. Have you ever wondered how someone, who saw the same thing you did, walked away telling a vastly different story? Which version was correct? Which one was the REAL story? Actually, both are! It’s just a matter of perspective.
Joe takes the issues… especially the controversial issues (politics, prejudice, religion, illegal immigration)… and brings in people from different sides to share their viewpoint. This is definitely not a fluff piece. And while no one is attacked, the questions are hard-hitting.
But the conversation is always respectful and you’re sure to learn something new, even if you don’t agree!
If you’ve always wondered how the “other side” thinks and how they’ve arrived at their “stand”, then this is the show for you!
It’s not the right side, it’s not the wrong side, but the REAL side of the issues!

Clay Douglas The Emperor’s Rage: Let Chaos Envelop the World! - FAITH? Ban the Bible? Collection of thoughts by Clay Douglas
Chaos reigns and spreads as enraged leaders in the US, Europe and their clients and allies pursue genocidal wars.
Mercenary wars in Syria; Israel’s terror bombing on Gaza; proxy wars in the Ukraine, Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and Somalia.
Tens of millions of refugees flee scenes of total destruction. Nothing is sacred. There are no sanctuaries. Homes, schools, hospitals and entire families are targeted for destruction.
Chaos by Design
At the center of chaos, the wild-eyed President Obama strikes blindly, oblivious of the consequences, willing to risk a financial debacle or a nuclear war. He enforces sanctions against Iran; imposes sanctions on Russia; sets up missile bases five launch minutes from Moscow; sends killer drones against Pakistan, Yemen and Afghanistan; arms mercenaries in Syria; trains and equips Kurds in Iraq and pays for Israel’s savagery against Gaza.

Why did Amazon stock plummet and Facbook stock skyrocket this week? One man selling goldmine for Bitcoin. UFO reported by numerous witnesses this weekend in Toronto. NASA says that the earth had a near miss with a solar flare in 2012, one that could have wiped out all electronics and returned us to the stone age. The typical household has lost one third of its net worth since 2003 and LYFT is cleared to begin peer to peer ride sharing in all five boroughs of New York City.
We knew from polling data that a majority of Americans, 54 percent, favored legalizing the use of marijuana. Now that we’ve begun publishing an editorial series arguing for an end to marijuana prohibition, we know that a majority of Times readers appear to favor legalization, too, and in far greater numbers than the population at large.
We asked readers on the main editorial if they were for legalization, against it or unsure. Forty-one said they were unsure, 206 against and 4043 for. (That’s as of 12:30 p.m. on Monday.) Obviously the comments section doesn’t amount to a scientific poll, but the lopsided reaction indicates that, among Times readers, there’s a virtual consensus: The federal ban on marijuana makes no sense.
They cause pain to church members of African descent, provide cover for repugnant views and make the church an easy target for criticism and satire. The church would benefit itself and its members — and one member in particular, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee — by formally repudiating the priesthood ban and the racist theories that accompanied it.
Mormonism wasn’t always troubled by anti-black racism. In a country deeply stained by slavery and anti-black racism, the church, founded by Joseph Smith in 1830, was noteworthy for its relative racial egalitarianism. Smith episodically opposed slavery and tolerated the priesthood ordination of black men, at least one of whom, Elijah Abel, occupied a position of minor authority.
In school, children learn the alphabet by associating the letter E for elephant. Soon that may change. What if children are taught E is for extinction because of the high price for ivory? In this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer, is joined by elephant advocate, Jen Samuel, founder of ElephantsDC.org to talk about an effort to push through a full ban on the sale of ivory in the state of New Jersey. Stay tuned!

GOOGLE TO BLOCK FIREARM, AMMUNITION, GUN ACCESSORY ADS: Google is going to single-handedly change the way that businesses in the firearms industry do their online advertising. According to Google Support's "Dangerous Products or Services" page, the company "[wants] to keep people safe both online and offline, so [they] won't allow the promotion of some products or services that cause damage, harm, or injury." Included in the dangerous products for which ads will be blocked are "Guns & Parts." This covers "functional devices that appear to discharge a projectile at high velocity, whether for sport, self-defense, or combat." Also included is a ban on ads for "any part or component that's necessary to the function of a gun or intended for attachment.

"In order to put public opinion into our hands we must bring it into a state of bewilderment by giving expression from all sides to so many contradictory opinions and for such length of time as will suffice to make the [average person] lose their heads in the labyrinth and come to see that the best thing is to have no opinion of any kind, in matters political." Meghan McGill is the niece of Chris Derose who is the founder of Last Chance for Animals. Last Chance for Animals began in 1984 now it has been 30 years since they have been fighting for animals.
A fixture in animal rights movement for over a decade, Meghan McGill has played an integral role at Last Change for Animals (LCA) for the past eight years. As a longtime vegan and animal-welfare advocate, Meghan serves as LCA’s campaigns manager and works to educate the public on issues of animal cruelty and abuse.
Meghan has been instrumental in leading some of the largest protests in the country against circuses, the fur industry and Puppy mills. She oversaw the ban of fur in West Hollywood and the closing of multiple high-end pet stores in Los Angeles area. Meghan regularly participles in speaking engagements and outreach events with children and schools, and is committed to demonstrating compassion for all beings that need a voice in our world.
Founded in 1984 by Hollywood actor Chris DeRose, Last Chance For Animals (LCA) has its roots in fighting and exposing the inherent cruelty of vivisection. In the organization's early years, DeRose led teams of dedicated activists employing non-violent strategies modeled after social movements led by such leaders as Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr.
Using "Direct Action," LCA activists engaged in peaceful protest with determined resolve... to make sure their voices would be heard. When direct action was still a new concept in the American animal rights movement, every well-planned demonstration achieved tremendous media coverage. By the late 1980s, LCA was earning a national reputation for its no-nonsense approach to exposing animal cruelty.
