MORNING TALK WITH THE RED HAWK...WHEN LIFE THROWS YOU A CURVE BALL

    in Lifestyle

Good morning, good morning, GOOD morning!!!  Monday morning, again, and how was that weekend???  Wasn't so bad, you made it out.  Anywho, today's topic is, WHEN LIFE THROWS YOU A CURVE BALL.  And we all know that life does have a tendency to do that.  But when it happens, what do you do, do you stand there, and try to swing at it, or do you just stand there, and let it go on by?  Most people will try to swing at it, while others, feel there's no need to swing, and pass up the opportunity to knock it out the park.  Learning to hit curve balls, is a great skill to have, and in life, seeing that we don't know when one is going to be thrown, it's best to practice swinging, when you have the opportunity.  Well, as always, you also have the opportunity to support the show by way of using http://www.paypal.com and using the email address, redhawk1967@hotmail.com.

I'm starting to become the big guy at the gym with no life, who posts pictures of his muscles, then eats a ton of food. Oh yeah, I take two shits a day now.

Weird News - Riots - Bruce Jenner is whacked!

    in Pop Culture

Hr1  Riots in Maryland. Why do people take to the streets and destroy their own neighborhoods? Insane!

Former Congressman John LeBoutillier talks about negotiating countries off the State Sponsors of Terror list. When did that become a negotiable item?

Hr2   I'm an equal opportunity ranter, it isn't just about the Democrats. Just do the right thing. Follow the Constitution. Be honest!

Can anyone link me to a bunch of right-wing conservatives with mean and hateful comments about Bruce Jenner? Joe reads hateful comments after Jenner comes out as a Republican, because THAT's offensive!

Our U.S. soccer team honors Canada in their uniform. Where's the red, white, and blue?

Why is it that only white guys perpetuate the rape culture? Oberlin College hangs posters blaming Republicans and Libertarians. I'm sure all those sex week events have NOTHING to do with objectifying women.

Students protest frat’s Beyonce sex doll with mock slave auction. Does this make sense to anyone else?

Hr3  Apologies aren't good enough anymore, especially when your tasteless mistake is excellent fodder to draw attention to someone else's cause. Lefties are the new stuffed shirts.

We're raising a generation of spineless individuals who avoid distasteful conversations at all costs. Sometimes you need to talk about things!

Never happen? but new ordinances may force Christian churches to perform LGBT weddings. Those who don't comply are under threat of shutdown. We can trust the government?

Kids who eat the right foods at school will be given stickers, temporary tattoos, and beach balls! Why?

Teen records his girlfriend beating up his mother while he watches & laughs. Ug!.

Same sex couple accuses Christian bakers of "mental rape." There's a big difference between rape & a wedding cake.

NORMA ECKROATE ON MEDICAL MARIJUANA FROM A PATIENT’S PERSPECTIVE

    in Culture

ENVISION THIS: In the new holistic paradigm that includes medical marijuana, mind-body-spirit health is the biggest priority.

Our guest, Norma Eckroate, is author of The Medical Marijuana Handbook: A Patient’s Guide to Holistic Healing with Cannabis.  She writes, “As a cannabis patient myself, I have distilled information in these pages that I found essential in my personal quest to understand the herb, its various forms, and the new options available to patients. I want to answer your questions, soothe your concerns, and give you the information you – or a family member or friend – need to effectively use medical cannabis.”

She speaks and writes about many aspects of the medical use of cannabis including her own experience, self-healing capacity of the body, the chemistry of this “superherb”, various sub-species for energizing or relaxing, balancing the autonomic nervous system, product options, safety, side-effects including psychoactive effects, and legal aspects of medical usage.

Our favorite chapter is her last, How to Deal with the New Normal – Being a Patient Requires Patience.  Her guidelines include but are not limited to: let go of victim / martyr energy; remember that you are worthy; let go of the need to JADE -- justify, argue, defend or explain yourself; stop juggling so many balls and decide which priorities really matter; eat a super-nutritious diet; indulge in vitamin P (pleasure) with every meal and snack; treat yourself to more fun and joy.

Carla helps her clients recognize their intentions and develop the necessary tools to navigate obstacles and listen to your inner wisdom.

Path To The Draft W/ UConn WR Geremy Davis & Coach Ronnie Battle

    in Sports

WR Geremy David has the measureables. And, he is excited about his chances. We will discuss his path to the draft on the show tonight. He has come through the halls and tutorial of Fellowship Sports and Ronnie Battle Jr. And, we are excited to promote Geremy for making some awesome decisions in life.

Strengths: Geremy Davis is a big receiver who does a fine job of positioning himself for the catch. Davis does a nice job of winning jump balls and has an aggressive side that allows him to muscle it away from defensive backs. Davis isn’t the most polished blocker but can hold his own and makes an honest effort. Davis makes most of his plays on the outside but has shown he’s comfortable going across the middle. Davis has good instincts and positions his body well to make impressive plays near the sidelines. Geremy Davis works hard and comes with zero baggage.

Projection: Geremy Davis is a receiver who will be selected in the later rounds but his height and flashes of physicality are intriguing. Davis has a hard time creating separation, which won’t change in the NFL, but he could fight for a roster spot and be an OK backup receiver on a team lacking depth.

Apr22@10pmET CandidFrankLive CFL IZ#269 CanadianQBs, Chris Williams, &More

    in Football

ANDREW BUCKLEY QB Calgary Dinos The scars of losing in the Canada West final haven’t healed quite yet, but winning two of Canadian university football’s biggest individual awards should help soothe the pain.
University of Calgary Dinos quarterback Andrew Buckley was chosen as the winner of the Hec Crighton Award for being the outstanding player in CIS football on Thursday night at the All-Canadian Gala in Montreal.
Then, the Dinos quarterback doubled up on the hardware, collecting the Russ Jackson Award, which rewards excellence in football, academics and citizenship.
He’s the first player ever to win both awards in the same season, and it wasn’t a bad way to cap off an extraordinary year — even if it doesn’t quite make up for his program’s 27-15 loss to the Manitoba Bisons two weeks ago in the Hardy Cup. >>>>>  Every year a couple of quarterbacks come out to the CFL combine to serve as the guys who throw the balls to the receivers and hand them off to running backs. They’re basically invisible to the scouts on hand.
There is talk around the CFL that Jordan Yantz could be the Canadian quarterback who breaks that trend this year.
The University of Manitoba Bisons quarterback will be one of two pivots taking part in this weekend’s CFL combine in Toronto, and he can’t wait to prove he can play the position like his American counterparts.
“I’m putting everything I’ve worked for my entire life into this weekend,” Yantz said Wednesday. “Being a Canadian quarterback, I’m honoured to get this opportunity, because how Canadian quarterbacks are evaluated at the next level is very tough and I’m honoured to be one of the two guys who gets invited to this combine and get a chance.

Crystal Silence League Hour Episode Nineteen: Ghost in the Machine, Part Three

    in Religion

New Thought teaches that a change in conciousness can change the world. But what exactly is conciousness, and how does it bring these changes from thought into reality?

The mystery of consciousness--whether or not the quality of awareness arises from the material brain or is a non-material "spark" separate from, but acting in cooperation with the brain--has been investigated by every branch of human inquiry. Yet we're no closer to a difinitive answer today than we were three thousand years ago.

This episode continues a series of discussions concerning consciousness. We'll look at Buddhist ideas, quantum models of consciousness, the materialist or functionalist model, and much more. Listeners are encouraged to call in to join the discussion (657) 383-0525 press "1" to speak with the host.

The crystal of the week is Blue Kyanite.
