PODCAST: TerraGo Partners with Bad Elf

    in Technology

There is a seismic shift happening where major enterprises are moving away from using proprietary GPS devices that are costly and require specialized training to manage and operate Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

As a result of this shift, we now have more nimble providers who offer GPS units designed for iOS and mobile apps that are highly cost-effective and help organizations easily leverage field data to enhance decision-making.

TerraGo recently announced that it has partnered with Bad Elf, a manufacturer of these types of GPS units.

Today, we are speaking with Brett Hackleman, CTO/Co-founder of Bad Elf.

Fast Food:Is it Good or Bad

    in Spirituality

James D. White, RD, ACSM HFS, Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Spokesman
Owner, President of Jim White Fitness & Nutrition Studios

Jim was honored to receive the 2010 Inside Business Top Forty Under 40 award for his outstanding professional achievements and his tremendous community involvement.

Most recently, however, he received a 2011 President's Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition Community Fitness Award. He is one of just 38 individuals across the country given this national honor for making sports, physical activity, fitness and nutrition-related programs available in their communities.

Growing up, Jim was not the biggest or strongest kid on the block. At 5’11”, 135 pounds, he was often seen as being too skinny by many of his classmates. In his junior year of high school, his brother introduced him to weight lifting. Jim’s dedication and persistence in the weight room helped him go from a 135-pound “weakling” to 195-pounds of “solid muscle.” He not only saw changes in his body, but he began seeing changes in other areas of his life: his energy levels skyrocketed, confidence soared, and motivation level remained high. He soon learned that leading a healthy lifestyle doesn’t only improve one’s body and health, but it can also have a positive influence on many areas of one’s life. This realization led him to carry out his lifelong mission - “Inspire others to have healthier and more fulfilling lives, which can be achieved through the proper exercise and nutrition.”

Bullying & Emotional Abuse in Adults – Recognize the Signs!

    in Radio

"Courage is fire, and bullying is smoke," stated former British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli. Adult bullying is a rising concern in the real world and online. Adults are as malicious as bad kids on the playground, but no one is supervising their activity or protecting their targets. And their victims are other adults who are not immune to the trauma of bullying. When one uses superior strength or influence to intimidate others, that’s classic bullying. Emotional abuse is characterized by subjecting another to behavior that may result in psychological trauma, like anxiety, chronic depression, or post-traumatic stress disorder. In one Seinfeld episode, George and Jerry recall their tyrannical gym teacher who used to give boys wedgies and encourage them to beat each other up. Girls don’t do anything like that, do they? Jerry asks Elaine. Oh no, Elaine replies. We just tease each other until one of us develops an eating disorder. The worst part of being bullied or abused in a relationship, is that often you don’t even realize it’s happening. Manipulative people twist your thoughts, actions, wants, and desires into something that better suits how they see the world. Bullies don’t want cooperation, they want control. Emotional bullying is often subtle and found in adult relationships and in the workplace. An emotional bully might use sarcasm, threaten, belittle, or humiliate. Join me and Life Coach Jenn A Nocera as we discuss the specific signs of bullying and emotional abuse. After the show check After Hours at Jersey Coastal Live for more info.

Get Real! with Mark and Kally - Eating Healthy While Traveling

    in Travel

In the old days of traveling for me, we relied on fast food chains, processed foods, and bad sandwiches.  This was considered normal eating for us, but not every day. When we decided to change our lifestyle and eating habits, I had no clue how to travel without bringing the whole kit 'n caboodle including the kitchen sink.

It's tough to stick to your usual and healthy diet while traveling, but it's not impossible. You barely have time to sleep, let alone think about how you will find healthy foods to eat, but there are some steps you can take to eat right while you're away. By taking a few extra minutes to adequately prepare for your trip and making wise choices when you are on the road, you can fuel your body and get the energy you need to power through your busy days. Don't miss our tips for eating healthy on the road.   You'll find you can save money as well and enjoy the local foods.

I know when we travel and eat well we stay healthy, feel great and have more fun.
