Please join Sanjay as he welcomes noted artist Sybilla Irwin to Beyond The Forest Radio!
Sybilla Irwin, a South-Texas native, is a talented wildlife artist with a fresh approach to this well-known genre.
Sybilla works in multiple media: watercolour, oils, pastels, and pyrography. Sybilla excels in the mastery of colour and attention to detail, drawing inspiration from her love of nature and its creatures. Her approach is fresh and modern, unlike many artists in this field; her paintings are larger than life with photo-realistic effects, seeming to explode off the page while still maintaining the aura of mystery which surrounds us all.
Sybilla has a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and a minor in Art from Texas A&M. Since 1995, she has taught art in various media in the community and in public schools, where she imparts her love and understanding of the visual world to hundreds of students.
Sybilla has self-published several prints of her paintings and is currently illustrating numerous books with several different authors.
Sybilla, born in Hondo, Texas, has three extraordinary children and one grandchild. As an investigator for the Bigfoot Field Researchers' Organisation, Sybilla interviews witnesses and attends expeditions across the country. She works one-on-one with witnesses to create life-like depictions of their encounters. Her other interests include writing, music and poetry, photography, backpacking, camping, and reading.

On the Second Half of the Show : Chris Salka from The Survival Channel®
Our channel has been set up for those who love nature, hiking, backpacking and adventure. Many tune into our channel because they wish to live vicariously through our videos and that's completely understandable. ... A little about myself: As many of you know, my name is Chris and I'm a family man first and an outdoors man second. While my heart is with my loved ones, but my soul is out and about with nature. There is nothing like exploring the world that we live in and that fuels my desire to see what's around the next corner. I started my channel/site to help others learn, grow, enjoy and appreciate the outdoors and the amazing world we live in. I also started it to leave something behind for my children so that they can enjoy the adventures that I too have enjoyed once I'm too old or passed on. ... Enjoy and thank you for watching.
Hello and blessings in the name of our Lord Jesus,
My name is Tony Nobles and welcome to my web page. My lovely and beautiful wife and I currently live in Clarksville, Tennessee. We are preparing to move to the Nashville area as worship, prayer, and teaching missionaries to Tennessee. We are working with the Nashville House of Prayer and Worship City Prayer to intercede for revival, and to empower and inspire the local church to committed prayer. I have been a bi-vocational minister for many years, and I founded and lead the Clarksville House of Prayer as the Executive Director.
My hobbies and interests include music, studying theology, and backpacking.
To restore the Tabernacle of David by imparting a spirit-led environment based out of community that allows for deep communion with God through organic prayer and worship.
My Mission is based on the great commission from Jesus Christ.
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20
To go to people, cities, and nations and to make them disciples of Jesus Christ by proclaiming that all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Jesus Christ, baptize them, and to teach all to obey everything Jesus Christ commands.

From their website:
At Summit Adventure, we use experiential education, adventure programming, service and cross-cultural immersion as tools to move individuals and groups out of their comfort zones into more reliance on God and each other. Since 1973, Summit Adventure has been leading the way as the premier Outdoor Ministry program. Participants throughout the years have told us that their experiences have been truly transformational, whether domestically in Yosemite, Joshua Tree and Death Valley or internationally in Ecuador, Mexico and Israel. Summit Adventure works with a wide range of groups, including youth (age 12+), college students, parents, adults and individuals with physical and mental disabilities. Although every course is different, typical course components include backpacking, rock climbing, mountaineering, rappelling, orienteering, trekking, cultural immersion and service.

"At times, my skull feels it can no longer contain my thoughts. Now I know why monks drill holes in their heads, to air out.
I reside in what is voted the most conservative big city in the United States, Mesa, Arizona. A concrete welcome-to-anywhere that is built on top of the desert like our human brains extending from mammal and reptile ones. When I was a child, an overpaid psychic told my mother that I would be a writer someday. I was very relieved later she was spared the news that along the way I would become a shop janitor and backpacking drifter before this writing business ever came into play.
Applying the collage or cut-up technique to every facet of my life as possible and letting my subconscious fill in the concepts, I collect refuse of reality to exercise general daily awareness. At times, I feel this is why I do not dream, or at least cannot remember dreaming; spent on lucidity by the time the lights go out. I feel more reactive than creative. I do not wish for any visual harmony between my pieces. They are all my children and they are constantly screaming for each of their fifteen minutes."
"I was on the cover Skateboard Canada at 18, met the president of Tahiti at 23, traveled the world and had a six-figure salary by the time I was 25…. And I was completely miserable."

“I can’t see the scenery or the architecture, obviously, but I like talking to people.”
And as he speaks fluent English and French, the latter being an invaluable tool to get in the minds of many West and Central Africans, in a way he does experience more of some of those countries that many visually-able, camera-happy, unilingual English-speaking tourists might manage to.
It’s also pretty obvious that aside from the freedom of the road, cultural interactions and other reasons, he does it to show he can. As a way to prove himself and the world that life doesn’t end with the lost of eyesight or other life-changing disability, that dreams can still come true if one goes to fetch them. Alessandro is the backpacker version of that guy who completed an Ironman triathlon paralyzed from the waist down, or that woman with only a few fingers on each hand who toured the world as a concert violonist. And I have to say it’s pretty inspiring.
You can find Alessandro online at www.lightheplanet.net. The frontpage header is in Italian, but he mostly writes short blog posts in English.
