MANAGEMENT MAGICIANS: If my title says manager, why do I feel like a babysitter?

    in Business

Our MANAGEMENT MAGICIANS™ series is dedicated to the “magic” that a talented manager is able to create. Our topic is, “If my title says manager, why do I feel like a babysitter?”

Competent management is predicated on a healthy, confident, talented individual who is practicing the joyful art of business! If a person is promoted to a management job position but they are insecure, disappointed in themselves, resentful of others, angry, jealous and/ or any other high-risk unmet need, they are unable to function as a manager. Instead, they will work to undercut the confident team members, they will take credit for ideas that are not theirs, they will plot against other staff members and peers.

They will spend the overwhelming majority of their time on personal issues (who they like, who they hate, who is “on their side,” who is “an enemy,” etc.). They will also lament that they are not able to “manage” because they are spending their time as a “babysitter.” They will gleefully share all of the failures and foibles of their peers, subordinates and supervisors. They are ruthless and relentless in their quest to cast themselves in a favorable light and diminish the accomplishments of others.

Stable, confident and satisfied managers are never babysitters (and never feel that way). They are aware that their job is to hire the best, clearly set expectations, nurture their team, continually provide feedback to their team, and other than that they get out of the way and let their high caliber team do their jobs in their own unique and creative ways. This is analogous to a stable, confident and satisfied manager in a family (a parent or caregiver). They have “the best” (just by definition of the minor child being in their family and/ or care). They clearly set expectations, nurture them, continually provide feedback and otherwise get out of their way.

"May Day (Scenario #75)" - COCKTAIL CONVERSATIONS with David Glover

    in Radio

Does loneliness, sexual frustrations supersede child safety in relationships? I know many people would say that is a easy answer but unless there are a lot of liars why does it continue to happen.

Let's look at Scenario 75 May Day and see how you would handle this situation

It’s your best friend’s 40th birthday party, and you don’t have a babysitter for your six-year-old daughter. This guy you have been dating the last two months is sitting around getting ready to watch the Mayweather fight and volunteers to watch your daughter for you.

Do you go to the party that night?

Bill Martinez Live-Can Gays become Straight??

    in Politics

On Bill Martinez Live for today in the last half hour at 10:33 we will interview five ex gays/lesbians. Those who claim that one is "born that way" can try to tell that to Robin who was raped by a babysitter and who is outraged that states have banned reparative therapy. Chris Doyle, Jayson Graves and others will tell their stories.

Welcome to Bill Martinez Live, hosted by an unapologetic AMERICAN U.S. Marine of Mexican descent who knows why people come to America but demands that immigrants come through the front door and that the rule of law be respected. Bill Martinez Live waves just one flag and has no use for hyphenated hearts torn between the Stars and Stripes and some other foreign banner.

Republicans & Democrats have lost a grasp on life, liberty and pursuit of happiness for America. Bill Martinez Live helps us regain it. Listen in to the show to hear every facet of the issues but keep your eye on God and the exceptionalism to which he has urged on America and its people. Our nation is at a crossroads but remember your solemn birthright fellow Americans as "We the People".  Our regular guests include former New York Lt. Governor Betsy McCaughey; Steve Evans the Movie Guy; Samantha  Mills who features spectacularly touching stories from the internet; Kevin "Coach" Collins-a NY City retired Honor Legion cop with a doctorate in Public Administration and a post doctoral degree is BS detection and Jen Horn on cultural happenings!  Would YOU like to be a rapid fire guest? Contact my producer Bill McIntosh at 305-396-2806 and leave a message if he doesnt pick up or email a 30 word intro of yourself and send us your land and cell phone numbers (if you have both) to: ocasomedia@gmail.com

It's something Danimator has fantisized about for a few years now ...
But ... where to begin?! How can you maintain that kind of devotion? Do you start with a story plot and add characters? Or do you start with characters and add a story? So many questions! So much inspiration!

Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN) - 913

    in Self Help

Tonight's special guest is Kym Harmony Tracy from Robinson, Illinois, a survivor and activist and an Inspirational Christian speaker. "For most of my life I've have heard, 'but you seem so normal.' Well, I'm far from normal. As a matter of fact, I call my life a beautiful mess," says Kym. "I have experienced many things from most all forms of [sexual] mental, physical and emotional abuse as well as divorce and dysfunctional relationships." She relates that she was in the second grade when she was first molested in the home of a friendly older grandparent-like couple in her neighborhood. At 9 she was abused by a babysitter she'd come to love. "The most troubling part of this molestation was she got her boyfriend involved, writes Kym. "They would either take turns with me or it would be a 2 on 1 event. I never told due to threats." Later, at 16, she was date raped by her boyfriend, "A rape he told me later he so enjoyed because he stole my virginity." She continues, "Now at nearly 50 years young I can still recall every detail of the experience with each of my monsters." As an adult, Kym was deeply troubled be her experiences, believing she was worthless, and wanting to give up. "And then, just when I thought I could no longer take it, when I felt I couldn't even breathe, God entered my life at just the right time." Kym says, "I believe God had me experience so many different things in my lifetime, so that I could be used as His vessel to help others see that in surrendering to God, and turning our life over to Him. A Beautiful Mess becomes His Beautiful Masterpiece. I'm helping to change lives one day at a time."

Maximize Your Summer Babysitter-Mom Biz Solutions Show

    in Moms and Family

While I love doing the "Mompreneur Tango" most of the summer (our system for getting work done without childcare), I occasionally hire a babysitter to break up the monotony of the weeks. But when I do, I set some clear expectations about how I want things to go with my kids so that they are happy and fulfilled when we have our sitter with us. Today I'll share some tips on how to make the most of your babysitter when you decide to get some help with child care.
Join Lara Galloway, The Mom Biz Coach, on Wednesdays at 10 am ET for her 15 minute "audio blog." Get your weekly dose of business coaching for mombiz owners from a straight-talking mompreneur business coach who wants you to succeed on your own terms.
Lara offers business coaching along with mothering tips, small business marketing strategies, and funny stories about the joys and chaos of being a mom entrepreneur. If you could use a little inspiration, or a guide from a mombiz owner who's "been there, done that," or if you just want to hear from a woman who has learned to laugh off her mistakes and accept her life as perfect (just the way it is), you'll want to tune in every week.
