The Green Bay Packers defense failed when it mattered most. While the offense struggled to find an indenity and put points on the board, the defense did all they could to keep the Packers in games. They finished the season ranked 12th in points allowed, and 15th in yards allowed.
When an outsider looks at the 119 rushing yards allowed per game they could assume that the defensive line was ineffective. The Packers faired well against some of the top running backs in the league. During the 6-0 and start, the defense was winning at the point of attack and eliminating the opponents running game.
The Packers will have a decision to make regarding the defensive line. B.J. Raji and Letroy Guion are both free agents. Guion had some off the field issues that could reduce the number the teams interested. Raji may generate some interest on the open market and may have played his last down in Green Bay.

Johnny Dark, comedian, actor, singer, producer, may now be best known for appearing on “The Late Show with David Letterman.” Most recently Johnny created a mini series about Abraham Lincoln called “Johnny Dark’s Lincoln,” which he has now turned this mini series into a one-man show following the life of Lincoln from birth to his untimely death.
Johnny grew up in New Jersey where he got his first taste of show business shining shoes outside nightclubs. It was there he shined Johnnie Ray’s shoes and got to watch his show at the Manor Supper Club. This sparked an interest in music. Before getting into comedy, Johnny teamed up with Paul Lowden to create a music show. Together they got a 10-week gig in the Carnival Lounge at the Ed Torres’ Fremont Hotel in Las Vegas. Johnny would play the drums and sing while Paul played the organ.
After his stint in Las Vegas, Johnny moved to Los Angeles to further pursue music. However, after a trip to The Comedy Store on Sunset Boulevard Johnny fell in love with comedy. At The Comedy Store he got to learn stand-up along side his peers Jay Leno, David Letterman, and Robin Williams.
Johnny began his comedy career appearing in feature films such as Rip-Off with Michael Benet, Night Patrol with Linda Blair and Pat Paulsen, Smart Alex with Steve Oedekerk. In 2006, he started as a regular on “The Late Show with David Letterman” where he appeared as several characters including the oldest CBS page, B.J. Twain, and President Abraham Lincoln. He continued this role as a regular for 4 years.
Not only has Johnny appeared in many comedic roles, but he has also gone on comedy tours with other great entertainers, such as Shirley MacLaine, Ginger Rogers, Pat Paulsen, and Engelbert Humperdink.

Did you know that the majority of Freedmen's Bureau records are now digitized and available online for free, as well as the records of other institutions that served newly-freed African Americans during Reconstruction? Angela Walton-Raji and Toni Carrier have built a new website called "Mapping the Freedmen's Bureau - An Interactive Research Guide" (www.mappingthefreedmensbureau.com) to assist researchers in locating and accessing records of the Freedmen's Bureau, Freedmen's hospitals, contraband camps and Freedman's Bank branches. Researchers can use the website's interactive map to learn which of these services were located near their area of research interest. If the records are online, the map provides a link to the records that tell the stories of newly-freed former slaves in the American south. The goal of this mapping project is to provide researchers, from the professional to the novice, a useful tool to more effectively tell the family story, the local history and the greater story of the nation during Reconstruction.
Angela Walton-Raji is an author, genealogist, guest lecturer and producer of the weekly African Roots Podcast and Toni Carrier is the Founder of LowcountryAfricana, a free website dedicated to African American genealogy and history in SC, GA and FL.
