Law Makers + Ethics = Oxymoron; SC Attorney General Alan Wilson

    in Politics Conservative

It is purely by accident that today's first didcussion will be on politicians and ethics will be follwed with SC Attorney General ALan Wilson. Two totally different topics.

ox·y·mo·ron (äks?'môr?än), noun. a figure of speech in which apparently contradictory terms appear in conjunction (e.g., faith unfaithful kept him falsely true ).

One would think if someone is an elected official who is responsible to enforce existing laws and is a contributing creator of new laws that person would be an ethical individual. Too many times we find that Law Makers (politicians) + Ethics proves to be an oxymoron.  Why is it so difficult for these people to be ethical, law abiding individuals? They expect everyone else to be law abiding citizens. They insist everyone else to be ethical. Confusing isn't it?

SC Attorney General Alan WIlson will be joining us  during the second half of the morning show. General Wilson has the achieved the reputation of being one of the country's best States Attorneys. As he battles Federal Overreach to protect State's Rights, Political (public) Corruption, Illegal Alien Issues, Human Trafficking and Online Safety Alan Wilson has proven himself to be "THe People's Attorney".

I look forward to you joining us "In the Pickle Barrel" at 8AM-10AM EST, Tuesday December 23, 2014.

O YE DRYBONES MERRI X MAS SHOW !!!!!/2555

    in Current Events

It doesn’t take much of an internet search to discover the “fact” that the Goddess Isis bore the Holy Child Horus on December 25th. Frequently, the statement is used to dismiss the Christian tradition of the birth of the Christ on that day (and by inference, Christian tradition in general) as “mere Pagan superstition.” Frankly, this has been driving me a little crazy for years—for a variety of reasons.

The Holy Mother & Her Holy Child

First, there is absolutely nothing wrong with celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, the bringer of the light of Christianity to its believers, at that time of year when the light of the sun begins its return to the world. It is the perfect symbol and early Christians would have been silly to ignore it.Since Horus is a solar God, His birth at the winter solstice—even to the extent that He is “imperfect and prematurely born” at that time—makes symbolic sense. This tradition was still going strong by the 4th and 5th centuries CE, for another writer, Macrobius, famous for his book about the Saturnalia, notes that:at the winter solstice, the sun would seem to be a little child like that which the Egyptians bring forth from a shrine on the apponted day, since the day is then at its shortest and the god is accordingly shown as a tiny infant. (Macrobius, Saturnalia, 1.18:10

    Inside the War Nest #10

    in Sports

O Holy Night? Well, it should be . . . except Jim Williams and “Frat House Mike” McShane are breaking down, analyzing, crying, whining, and screaming about this past week’s developments with the Philadelphia Eagles on the latest edition of Inside the WarNest.

Three weeks ago, the Eagles had a 90+% chance of making the playoffs. Today? They’re making vacation plans! How in the world did this happen . . . and HOW did they possibly lose to the Washington Redskins? It really didn’t appear to be a bad game plan; so did penalties and two missed field goals seal their fate?

Chip Kelly says the Birds have to go win a tenth game against the New York Giants this week, but does it really matter? Who cares?

Well David Aitken, Giants staff writer for TheGiantsBeat.com, DOES and he joins the program to talk about this week’s G-Men – Eagles match-up; the team’s three game winning streak; the future of Tom Coughlin; and more

Pour yourself another eggnog and share an hour of Christmas Eve with Jim and Mike. Get into the fray. Commiserate and rant along with them . . . AND give them a call at 347 – 826 – 9964!

Service Dog Welfare - Experts in Service Dog industry express concern.

    in Pets

Experts in the service dog industry, Jeanne Hampl and Darcie Boltz share their perspective on a family highlighted with Matt Lauer who have a service dog for their small child.  Can we expect a young child to know how to properly handle a dog by herself?  During the interview the dog showed signs of stress that the general public wouldn't recognize, but had the dog industry ignite - like panting and yawning.  This interview brings up a larger topic of service dog welfare that gets lost in the "feel-good" stories, like this, that get ignorantly run in the media all the time.  My question is:  WHAT ABOUT THE DOG?

The Eagles went from NFC East front-runner to missing out on the playoffs in a couple of short weeks. How did that happen? The clock struck midnight on Mark Sanchez. The Patriots and Jets played at MetLife Stadium for what is likely the last time with Rex Ryan coaching the Jets and Ryan's Jets gave the Patriots a run for their money. The Giants are salvaging their season and potentially coach Tom Coughlin's job with three straight wins behind the amazing play of Odell Beckham. ***

In hockey, the Rangers are the hottest team in hockey with seven straight wins, moving into third place in the Metropolitan Division. We will also cover the other locals and hot topics as we whip around the league at the Christmas break. ***
