My Advertising and Marketing career began in 1998, at the advertising agency, Poster Publicity International in New York City (that later merged with Kinetic Worldwide). My post as "Out-of-Home" Media Specialist and Account Executive included media buying, strategy and planning, and production for "Outdoor" media.
The above experience provided a sturdy foundation for the my next role as Senior Media Planner at Media Space Solutions in Norwalk, Connecticut. This position was twofold - both creative and analytical. I not only oversaw national print campaigns and managed the RFP process for national brands, but I also worked closely with the IT Director to specify, develop, implement and communicate enhancements to PlanET (a proprietary planning tool) and APEX systems.
With solid marketing and advertising expertise, I worked in a consulting capacity for several years at both Connecticut and New York-based firms to include Team GAT (German American Technologies) and G.E. Pharma. In addition to Print, and Outdoor Media, these varied roles led me to obtain a firm grasp on planning and analysis for trade show marketing, online advertising, and social media management.
With varied marketing and media experience fifteen years strong, I decided to launch my own firm (CT Virtual) in 2011. Our "Virtual Assistant Solutions" provide strategy and creative direction to a growing niche. In a time where the publishing industry is undergoing drastic changes, so are the methods for driving traditional PR and Book Marketing services, and this is where my firm comes in. We partner with Authors and Speakers to provide them with cutting edge Marketing, PR, and Creative Services that drive exposure and help them sell more books. Our drive for innovation and excellence is unsurpassed. We form winning strategies and our forte is versatility, as evidenced by our wide-ranging portfolio.
On November 19, my guest will be Alan Winnikoff. Alan is co-principal of Sayles & Winnikoff Communications, the boutique public relations firm he co-founded in 2003, along with his partner, Carina Sayles. Alan shares in the strategic direction and overall management of the company. The agency’s focus is primarily, though not exclusively, on companies, product and content for the children’s and family market. Sayles & Winnikoff also works with a wide range of arts, media and entertainment companies, as well as non-profits and start-ups.
Alan is responsible for the strategic direction and overall management of the company and the account team. With a recognized expertise in branding and messaging, he sets the agenda for, and manages, the agency’s client relationships.
Alan was one of the founding executives of Sony Wonder, the family entertainment division of Sony Music. He helped launch the label in 1993 and directed all PR efforts there for seven years, working with such high profile brands as Sesame Street and Nickelodeon Home Video. He left Sony Wonder in 2000 to join the children’s Internet company MaMaMedia. He has also held executive PR and marketing positions at the cable news channel MSNBC and at IDG Books, the publishers of the For Dummies series and Frommer's Travel Guides, among other brands.
Alan began his career in Los Angeles with The Lippin Group Public Relations. He moved to New York and ran the firm’s New York office, then joined Worldvision Enterprises, a worldwide television syndication company, owned by Aaron Spelling Productions. As Vice President, Communications, he was involved with the Hanna Barbera library, as well as with shows such as Beverly Hills, 90210, Melrose Place and Twin Peaks.

Nadia Ruiz began running during her freshman year in high school. She comes from a first generation immigrant family from Ecuador. Her parents raised their children with the principles to work hard, dedicate yourself to ones education, and always aim for ones highest personal integrity.
Unfortunately in middle school, she fell victim to bullying possibly for her academic achievements and late development. Her mother enrolled her immediately in the community boxing and Nadia had the opportunity to discover there as an endurance bug within.
She learned immediately that there was something special that running brought to her life so she decided to register for her first marathon at the age of 14.
Sixteen years later, she has completed over 120 marathons (3:16 PR), 55 half marathons (1:26 PR), 11 ultras, and 4 Ironman triathlons (12:34 PR) frequently in the top of her age group or Top Overall women.
Nadia graduated with her BS, M.Ed, and Teacher's Credential from UCLA at the age of 20. Nadia has been a HS Biology educator, coach, and marketing consultant for 10 years.

Nadia shares, "I will live my life as I choose. I hope to continue to follow where my heart guides me exploring and challenging myself in new terrain as long as I can while encouraging others to do so as well."
Nadia states, "In order to reach others, I have created some profiles on social media where I share my struggles, triumphs, and challenges throughout my life to demonstrate to others that they may other overcome their struggles to reach their goals."
