Our guests this morning are Jill Brunkhardt of Chevron and Andrew Stanisich aka Stan, from Two Guns Espresso.
Jill Brunkhardt has been a Public Affairs Representative at the Chevron El Segundo Refinery since September 2006. She’s very active in the community and currently sits on the board of directors for the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce, Manhattan Beach Botanical Garden, Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce and several other organizations. Jill is also a member of the Manhattan Beach Education Foundation Business Advisory Committee and former board member of Partners in Education and Leadership Redondo Steering Committee. She has received numerous community awards including the El Segundo Chamber of Commerce Member of the Year (2006),
Andrew Stanisich is from Auckland, New Zealand and moved to the states in 2009. He studied Hotel Management and began working as a kitchen hand. He then worked in the catering field before going to work at Air New Zealand. Stan spent 15 years as a flight attendant and knew the South Bay quite well since he was here two or three times each month. When he moved here, he went to work at the Apple store in Manhattan Village Mall. He loved it because he met the residents of the area and it gave him the motivation to create his own business. Stan and his business partner, Craig, wanted to bring the cafe culture they cherish so much in New Zealand to their new home.
So this morning, we’re going to do an official recap of this year’s Best of Manhattan Awards. Jill was the Chair of the event again this year and Stan’s s business was one of the winners.
