Dr. Bernier joins Autism Spectrum Radio to discuss the latest research about autism and what it means to the 1 in 68 now being diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
Dr. Bernier is a licensed clinical psychologist, the Clinical Director of the Seattle Children’s Autism Center, and an Associate Professor at the University of Washington. He received his PhD at the University of Washington, his clinical training at UCLA, and also holds degrees from the University of Wisconsin and Tufts University. As a clinician, author of over 50 publications, author of the book Autism Spectrum Disorders: A Reference Handbook, and as the principle investigator on a number of NIH- and foundation-funded research studies, Dr. Bernier is interested in bridging the gap in our understanding of the relationship between etiology, neurological underpinnings of deficits in social cognition, and the behavioral presentation of autism spectrum disorder.

The Vidant Medical Center in Greenville North Carolina appears to be such a beautiful high tech example of what most hospitals could only aspire to be.
At least this is the impression that the caring loving Mother of her 26 year old daughter felt when she was taken in to care for her as she struggled with several multiple illnesses: Systemic Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Vasculitus, Antiphospholipid Syndrome & Acute Renal Failure any of which could have taken her.
So this Medical Center appeared to be the absolute best place to receive the 'round the clock care that only such an impressive state of the art facility could bring.
But all of the technology in the world cannot distance one from human error and negligence, the advancements in medical gadgetry is only as strong as its weakest link.
.......and that link is the brilliantly flawed well dated machinery called humankind.
For all of the latest machinery to detect and thwart all sicknesses proactively can never measure the amount of laziness, arrogance as well as all of the pollutants that have been known throughout history to clog the filters of righteous moral character that so many depend on to man the gadgetry that will make them well.
So what good is it to have the most impressive facility when a nurse loses her sympathy toward an ailing patient and cares not for them except to make a paycheck and coverup their own displays of being inept?
Listen to how deep the rabbit hole will go in this sad but true case as a saddened Mother takes you through every step of her personal nightmare resulting in the death of her precious daughter due to the shady dealings at The Vidant Medical Center and NOT because of the ailments that she actually came there to take control of.
It has been said that truth is stranger than fiction and as you listen to this tale of injustice unfold you will definitely agree with that statement 100%!

[62:10] O you who believe! when the call is made for Prayer on Friday, hasten to the remembrance of Allah, and leave off all business. That is better for you, if you only knew.
[62:11] And when the Prayer is finished, then disperse in the land and seek of Allah’s grace, and remember Allah much, that you may prosper.
[62:12] But when they see some merchandise or some amusement, they break for it, and leave you standing. Say, ‘That which is with Allah is better than amusement and merchandise, and Allah is the Best Provider.’

Because numerology tells you what opportunities, and what challenges, you will experience in each lifetime. It also shows why you react to what life throws at you … whether you get angry, whether you pull away from people or issues, whether your anger is directed internally or externally, whether you hold on to your emotions, or allow yourself to work through them. Your balance number shows you how to deal with life in a more effective manner. What a great tool to better understand yourself and help you in your growth"

Hi, My name is Richie Jewell. I'm 22 years old and I have autism since being diagnosed at the age of 2 1/2.
Currently, i work at a local library in Beacon, NY to get some money. Outside of that, I'm a writer, motivational speaker and world/autism advocate to reach out people and raise their spirits. As of right now, I'm writing a book now titled This is Me: Life with Autism, which discusses my struggles and triumphs with my disability throughout my life. I do speeches at public places such as schools and libraries to raise awareness of autism, world problems and my struggles with my disability. Every day, there will be new challenges that are gonna confront me but I will get stronger and more confident as I conquered them. I always live by a quote made by Jim Henson. And i quote: "Life is meant to be fun, joyous, and fulfilling. May each of yours be that - having each of you as a child of mine has certainly been one of the good things in my life. Know that I've always loved each of you with an eternal, bottomless love. A love that has nothing to do with each other, for I feel my love for each of you is total and all-encompassing. Please watch out for each other and love and forgive everybody. It’s a good life, enjoy it." In order to be successful, i could try give the best advice which follows: Reach into your heart and soul to discover your talent. Sometimes, people's talents fade away and you lose something special so, hold on to it. If your talent or idea helps you, then let it set you free from the obstacles that are currently destroying your spirit. Follow your dreams and heart by listening to that “whisper” inside your head speaking to you. If you listen to it, you'll go somewhere.
