In the early 80's a young girl was born into a family that left her heartless, helpless and emotionless allowing her to always fin for herself; alone and barely loved. She grew up and experienced so many things that eventually allowed her to learn, forgive, forget and grow. Sharing my story to touch hearts of others that can relate to struggle, life's disappointments, abuse, deaths, and or betrayal; and come out with a positive attitude.
Using the words I recorded in journals and notebooks I kept as a young girl, I now bare my soul within these pages by sharing my truth. I share my personal struggles with the world to help others and give them the support and love I never felt as a young girl. I don’t want anyone to ever feel, what I felt growing up, but in my years of healing I realize that I am certainly not the only one. It was a lot of hurt and pain but there are ways to get through it, to do more than just survive. Reclaim your worth, your dignity, your SELF. He will see you through it, and He will put people in your path that will help along the way.
I am sharing my story with you, so others, who have judged me without knowing the silent pain that I carried, will finally understand. “Never judge a book by its cover, first open it and read it.” So as the Bible says, I am making it plain, and writing it on tablets--making my life that open book; a book that includes a vision of hope, faith and victory that many desire, but few have claimed.
At the end of my story, you will have cried, laughed, had chills or even gotten upset, feel hurt or feel loved. But at the very end of it all I want you to take my words, then write your own story, or rewrite your story with a new path of healing, love, and faith.

"When The Drum Major Died" by Anjulle Floyd
Martin Luther King, Jr. has begun laying out plans for his Poor People’s Campaign. Florina Austin, newly married, spies a woman sitting on the steps leading up to the verandah where Florina and her husband will live. The woman’s uncanny knowledge of the space that Florina will inhabit leaves her suspicious.
The following Sunday after church, Florina witnesses the woman, she has come to know as Agnes, caress Redmond’s cheek. The look in Redmond’s eyes betrays longing. Florina and Agnes are neighbors. Their husbands, Negro doctors in Poinsettia, NC, hold prominent positions in the social and political life of their community. When Agnes flees to Memphis and joins the Sanitation Workers Protests, all are aghast, none more than Florina. As they move towards the fateful day Dr. Martin Luther King is killed, Florina learns that marriage exposes the vulnerabilities of all who pledge their trough and body. It casts an even greater shadow upon the ones who vow love unto death, and do not deliver what they have promised. When the Drum Major Died shows what happens when we resist change in favor of worn out tradition, but also what can and does occur when we open our hearts and embrace the words, “ … be first in love … be first in generosity … He who is greatest among you shall be your servant. …”
Synergy is when the confluence of people, events, and places combine to create extraordinary things and results. And in the history of the U.S. Army, there is no greater example of synergy than the West Point Class of 1915. Known as, "The Class the Stars Fell On," the class of 1915 produced 59 general officers and a President of the United States out of just 164 graduates. Graduating just as America was becoming involved in World War I, the class of 1915 showed its talents and metal early, and also suffered the first of a number of combat casualties. And while most of the class languished through much of the interwar period as field grade staff officers, the coming of World War II made them into the leaders that won the greatest conflict in history. These included general's like Dwight D. Eisenhower, Omar Bradley, James Van Fleet, and Joseph McNarney. And when World War II ended, the class of 1915 became the Army leaders that led America into the Cold War, and Korea. Never before in the history of West Point had such a group of young officers been assembled, and it has not occurred since.
To learn more about the West Point Class of 1915, join military historian, author and journalist John D. Gresham (@greshamj01) for Military Monday (#MilitaryMonday on the Writestream Radio Network (@Writestream)) at 1 p.m. Eastern. His guest this week is Zenith Press (@Zenith_Press) author Michael Haskew, the writer of The Class of 1915. Haskew has researched the entire West Point 1915 graduating class, including those who did not become general officers. This edition of Military Monday will be a fascinating hour looking at one of the greatest collections of Army leadership, at both the beginning of their careers and at their apex in the crucible of World War II. Listeners are encouraged to call in and offer their questions/opinions to both gentlemen.
