Robert Jacobs: Radiation, Nuclear Testing and Fukishima

    in Politics Progressive

Robert Jacobs is associate professor at Hiroshima City University and Asia-Pacific Journal contributing editor. He is the author of The Dragon's Tail: Americans Face the Atomic Age (2010), the editor of Filling the Hole in the Nuclear Future: Art and Popular Culture Respond to the Bomb (2010), and co-editor of Images of Rupture in Civilization Between East and West: The Iconography of Auschwitz and Hiroshima in Eastern European Arts and Media (forthcoming 2015).  He is the principal investigator of the Global Hibakusha Project.

There have been over 2,000 nuclear weapon tests in the world, almost half by the U.S. Millions of people have been exposed to radiation from these tests, and countless more still live in radiation contaminated areas. This is true for all nuclear powers, but especially the U.S. and the territories of the former Soviet Union. Virtually nothing has been done to compensate these people, or to remediate their land.

In Japan, virtually everything that the government of Japan (GOJ) and TEPCO are saying about Fukishima they know to be lies, and that their purpose is to manage public perceptions to minimize liability. The history of radiological contamination provides information about what is ahead for Fukushima, and that this history is being deliberately ignored.

The Heretics' Hour: Hollywood heavyweights rule at Auschwitz 70th Anniv.

    in Education

Hollywood heavyweights join together to carry on the tradition of “Holy Hoax by Hollywood” that began in 1945. The world's “Jewish elite” will once again gather at Auschwitz on January 27th to honor the humble 'survivors' who are, in reality, only bit players in the big show. The Hollywood heavyweights (Spielberg, Katzenberg, Weinstein, et al now taking the place of Budd Schulberg, Billy Wilder and Stanley Kramer of Nuremberg fame) are busy arm-twisting big-name celebrities like Barack Obama to make an appearance, thereby ensuring lots of media coverage. Vladimir Putin has already indicated he would attend. The target remains the younger generation, for obvious reasons

Carolyn Yeager brings you the latest in preparations for the all-Jewish “Day of Remembrance” mandated by the United Nations in Nov. 2005. As an antidote, please read jan27.org.

Saturday Afternoon: Challenging questions for the Auschwitz 70th Anniversary

    in Education

It's time to focus on the holohoax and hoaxers again as the 70th Anniversary of what they call the "liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau" approaches. January 27th is the date that was decided upon by the Israeli-Jewish contingent (scroll to bottom of page) at the United Nations in 2005 for an annual "Holocaust Remembrance Day" (Week), and was thus also taken up by the Polish goverrnment's star tourist attraction, the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial/Museum. They have launched a special website just for this event, expected to draw many Jewish luminaries.

With Vladimir Putin coming out so strongly this year against any and all holohoax revisionism, I see it as a sign of the increasing tightening of the criminal code all over the world in order to prop up this hoax as legally protected permanent history.

John Carver Show - Leadership...You've Got It!

    in Self Help

I’ve met so many people who think Leaders are born or they need to have a title or a position.  I don’t buy that idea.

Leadership is shown by your actions and not your words.

Galileo Galilei (1564-1642) – Galileo was willing to challenge the orthodoxy of the church through his own scientific discoveries. This commitment to truth and science came despite personal threats to his well-being.

Witold Pilecki (1901 –  1948) During WW2 Pilecki joined the underground Polish resistance. In 1943, he volunteered to smuggle himself into Auschwitz concentration camp so he could report on the holocaust to the allies. He then escaped Auschwitz and took part in the Warsaw uprising of 1944. In 1948, he was executed by the Stalinist secret police for retaining loyalty to the non-Communist Polish government.

I cannot get my head around this method that God chooses.

The older I get the more I realize more people watch your life than you can imagine.

“One of the hardest places, in leadership, is what you DO with what you KNOW when you THINK what you KNOW isn’t WORKING.  What you DO, when you’re DOWN, can determine the OUTCOME!”  Me

Repeating - The older I get the more I realize more people watch your life than you can imagine.

Job made a choice that I really don’t know if I could have made…22 Through all this Job did not sin nor did he blame God.

Leadership is standing when you feel like falling on your face in anguish and staying there.

    Leadership is NOT a title.

Leadership is about influencing others in your life with your words, habits and actions.

“Leadership is an action, not a position.” ~ Donald McGannon

It is 70 years since the liberation of Auschwitz by Soviet soldiers and still stories of the Holocaust remain untold. Two of those stories are brought to light thanks to the miracle of film. Joining Halli at her table on The Halli Casser-Jayne Show, Wednesday, May 27, 3 pm ET are the producer and the director of the film ABOVE AND BEYOND, Nancy Spielberg and Roberta Grossman. And author Glenn Kurtz who uncovered a family treasure which shows the remarkable footage of his grandfather’s birthplace in a Polish village filmed in 1938 prior to the outbreak of World War II, the story of Glenn’s efforts to discover what happened to the people in the film as told in Glenn’s award-winning book THREE MINUTES IN POLAND.

ABOVE AND BEYOND, THE BIRTH OF THE ISRAELI AIR FORCE is produced by accomplished businesswoman, fundraiser and philanthropist, Nancy Spielberg and directed by award-winning filmmaker Roberta Grossman, who has produced more than forty hours of documentary film and television, including HAVA NAGILA and BLESSED IS THE MATCH: THE LIFE AND DEATH OF HANNAH SENESH, which was short-listed for an Academy Award. ABOVE AND BEYOND tells the moving and powerful story of a group of World War II pilots, mostly American, who risked life and limb to volunteer to fight for Israel in the 1948 War of Independence.

Glenn Kurtz, a graduate of the New England Conservatory-Tufts University double degree program who holds a PhD from Stanford University in German studies and comparative literature and whose writing has been published in the New York Times, Salon, Southwest Review, and elsewhere. In THREE MINUTES IN POLAND, DISCOVERING A LOST WORLD Glenn recounts his four-year journey to identify the people captured in his grandfather’s haunting images, and introduces us to seven survivors of Hi
